how about 40 to 50 recips a site

how many LL owners that will take free sites with single index text recips, I am gonna start building again, got things close to go

JustRobert 2010-01-12 10:12 PM

I believe you will find most lists will take a single line index recip nowadays

mjgcny 2010-01-12 10:13 PM

Hi Plateman. you can send your freesites my way, won't be a problem with the recips.

JackDaniel's 2010-01-13 06:07 AM

no problem here |thumb

Nymph 2010-01-13 09:06 AM

Send 'em my way, I'll take 'em

Cleo 2010-01-13 10:14 AM

I have no problem with this as long as the recips don't overwhelm the page.

same here

I'd accept it if my link was first, bold, and at least two sizes larger than everyone else's.

Oh yeah, my anchor text would have to be "PORN."

I'll take them here. I don't like building more than one "doorway" either, so I stuff everyone on the same page. :) I do a bunch of one line recips too so submit them.

And if you have toons, I have a new toon link list/blog that is getting traffic. Submit free sites and galleries. http://www.gotporntoons.com/linklist/users/index.php

Floyd 2010-01-14 12:30 AM

No problem on either of my sites either.

plateman 2010-01-14 07:41 PM

well you guys know I try and make things bigger|crazy|

I am gonna shoot for about 30 to 35 and thats really not over doing it by a fews years ago standards, cause of the 2 link recips 99% of LL wanted you to use

Pagan 2010-01-15 08:30 PM

Though I am behind at the moment, I have no problem on my humble little list either as long as you can still have it looking neat and the surfer doesn't get jerked around.

MeatPounder 2010-01-16 08:26 AM

Make it look good and anything YOU do is fine with me (BTW my partners have LOT's of leeway)

Useless 2010-01-16 09:34 AM

Allow me, if you will, to add one point about huge recip tables from an owner's point of view: if you thought recip tables were giving you too little traffic before, you'd be amazed at the complete lack of visits delivered by the new 30-50 link blob people are using now. Once you reach a certain number of links, all value is basically gone. Aesthetically, they're a mess, there's nearly zero SE value to the page (if any), and a surfer only finds your link list by accident.

This is the type of thing I'm talking about:
Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List - Link List

Keeping the links in a geometric row and column table or in a long blog roll type list looks cleaner and makes it more possible for a surfer to read the link list names and possibly check one out if he or she chooses to. Still no SE value, but at least there is a minor chance at seeing some traffic in return for the listing. The submitters who use the sloppy recip blob like the one above send pretty much no love back.

I find myself to be semi-amused by the fact that, as we witnessed the dramatic decline in the power of the link list, the owners, in order to attract submitters, decided to start listing sites that helped hasten their own demise.

By the way - you are all whores. |nahnah|

So you would prefer being on doorway number 10 with a nice big recip?

SheepGuy 2010-01-16 02:14 PM

I agree Useless, especially when they are the smallest font on the page.
Something like the "Friends of" section here
That type of hardlinking is fine for a TGP site, but does nothing for a link list owner.

As a matter of fact, yes I would. I don't mind doorways at all, as long as I'm grouped with lists based on traffic, not "I've never heard of your list and your a dick on the board so I'm going to put you on this page with 14 dead lists all owned by the same unknown guy."

I consider myself fairly fortunate in the fact that I have only 2-3 semi-regular submitters. So, I don't see the recip blob all that often. Of course, I also don't review, so it's not often that I take the time to pass any kind of judgment on my submitters. (When they click the submit button, my main and category pages are instantly rebuilt with the addition of their submission.) My tasks are pretty much limited to adding categories and playing with ad spots.
