Currently Accepting Donations For My Step-Daughter's Kidney Transplant Benefit

I know times are tough for everyone, which is one reason why we're throwing a benefit for my step-daughter, who's on the national list for a kidney transplant. She's only 27 & has been dealing with this problem since she was 19 years old.

The benefit, which will be held on Sept 17th, will hopefully cover the $10,000+ in expenses & lost wages that she's going to incur.

Seeing as I know hardly anyone reading this would be able to attend, if you'd like to make a donation*, you can do so via PayPal, Paxum, or check thru this page.

All the information about the benefit, her illness, as well as becoming a living donor, can be found on her website:
Benefit For Samantha McKillen

Thanks for taking the time to read this |shake|

* If you make a donation & have a mainstream website, I'll throw you a link :)

Petri and I both have it noted to send more after the third of the month.

$10k seems low for a kidney transplant. I assume health insurance picks up most of it?
Hope it all works out.

paypal.me is pretty neat - using it on my own site now.

Yes, her health insurance is picking up most of it, but there will still be about $5k out-of pocket stuff, as well as 4-6 months of recovery where she's not working. She's trying to save her vacation days & work will cover some of the time.

THANK TO ALL THAT HAVE DONATED SO FAR!! |shake|

Hope everything goes well with the operation. It sucks to be sick.

Just donated. Sorry but as I have not been able to work for a couple of months and will not be able to work for another couple of months it was only $20 as I am worried about money myself at the moment.

Greenguy 2016-07-29 01:26 PM

Thanks ecchi - I really appreciate it!!

I apologize for not updating this thread sooner, but the benefit was a HUGE success & we raised more than our goal, so thanks again to all that helped out!
