Thursday June 11th (aka Fucking Windows Updates 🤬)

I can't be the only one that still just |banghead| and |facepalm| over Windows updates. I got the notice yesterday morning that there were 2 in there, so I rebooted - no problem. Then it says there's another, so I have it download/install & waited til I was done for the night to reboot. I checked it before I went to sleep about an hour later & it was at 25% |facepalm| So I wake up this morning & it was one of those big mega updates full of shit no one will ever use. It took FOREVER for my PC to get up to speed - like an hour (think of waiting to warm up a 74 Nova in freezing weather)
So far it's:
- Resized a lot windows from the size I had them before the update.
- My taskbar icons are further apart (as if I was having trouble clicking a 32x32 image with my mouse)
- My Ring security camera program shut down twice for no reason before it finally stayed open.
- Skype decided to not notify me about a message from 11AM yesterday.
- It installed some new Intel Graphics thingy that apparently doesn't work because I keep getting random "Intel Graphics can not...due to missing DLL file" messages
- EDIT #1 - Drop down menus are HUGE
I'm 99.44% sure I'll find more things wrong. There is another update in there, but fuck me if I'm doing that before I'm done working for the day.

I use Ubuntu Linux so I don't know what you're talking about but I do hear my wife complain about the Tuesday Windows updates.

Feeling physically crappy today but trying to push through. My ear aches so I'm going to pop an Advil and get in the shower. That's all I've got.

Yesterday was hot and kicked my ass not to mention my back and neck are still very sore. Today it's suppose to be the same soooo F that! Taking the day off to rest and do a couple of errands.

Congrats on that Ramster. I assume you will get decent internet where this cottage is.

Since I'm skipping that outside other stuff it will be biz/tv/post office/grocery store and a nap kinda day.

I installed a couple of security cameras on the front porch; one watching the porch itself, and the other watching that problematic parking lot where the nightly partying take place. For some reason, the gatherings there ended the day before my cameras were delivered. What the hell? Even with that headache out the way, I did get a motion alert yesterday, so I viewed the video to see a small black bag floating onto my porch, carried by a gentle breeze. I guess that means the cameras work.

It's already 80 degrees (Fahrenheit) here at 11am, so work will be like an an incredibly moist oven - or exceptionally large vagina. Here's the thing I have discovered about the South's wonderful weather. Summer sucks. Too hot, too humid. Remember when Cleo used to poke fun at we Northerners? She's crazy. Yes, winter here is usually quite mild, but it goes pretty quickly from winter to a long, hot summer, then it will be winter again. I prefer weather in which I can go outside, take a walk, and not feel the need to immediately shower. Still though, at least I'm not bogged down by Windows updates. |thumb

I went fishing yesterday and caught 5 small carps ... they now live in my pond :D

I visited Cleo in late August one year. Stayed a couple days. She knows some trick with her AC where it's barely on, yet it's always nice & cool in her house. I think we should build a bridge out of her...

That's because they stopped updating XP about a decade ago.

I miss Cleo ... and her excellent sites :(

I talk to her on Facebook every now & then. She misses all of us, too :(
