Wednesday January 17th (aka Merry Hump Day)

Morning! |waves|

Yesterday was basically uneventful. I worked, picked up the ASSIL, worked, went to the chiro, worked, and then started to watch the new Blade Runner 2049 on PPV, but I got too sleepy |pokefun||greenguy| I think I have about an hour to go. It's good so far...

Today is basically the same. I have to run to the bank, pick up the ASSIL from work & run him downtown for an appt, and those 2 will be sandwiched by work.

Have a lovely Hump Day |thumb

We got feedback from our Open House on Sunday:
"...The way the driveway is set up will not work for us. Not enough room and no room for expansion..."
I can park 10 cars in my driveway & still be able to drive a U-Haul truck from the street to the pool house |angry|

Are they a family of 15, each driving their own limo? Fucking insane.

I'm still bored in Arizona, but I don't need to be anywhere until mid February when I spend a four day weekend with that wonderful hippie girl I was sort of long-distance dating in California a couple of years ago. After this bullshit rendezvous ends, I'm heading to Mexico to (hopefully) get a year supply of my anti-depressant.

I might head into town today and grab some beer, ice, and firewood, and invite over a couple of the people I have met here. Or, I might just watch Netflix again like I did last night and drink all of the beer myself. Who knows? |thumb

Afternoon

I've seen the Last Jedi now. I liked it :-)

Update some sites and then sleep. Full day of work tomorrow.

Have a great evening

One thought is that he's (or she's) an Over The Road driver, and while I haven't had a 48 footer down there, there've been plenty of deliveries in shorter trailers that came right down to the pool house. Or they have a double-wide mobile home #FuckingNomads

What did you like & dislike? I hated the casino storyline about how the wealthy get rich off the backs of the poor. And the scene where Rey & Ren are fighting in front of Snopes might of well been replaced with the scene from Jedi where Luke & Vader go at it in front of what's-his-face. Took me right out of the movie :(

I think I explained how I stopped enjoying Star Wars in a previous thread. Ep1-2 was just to bad, IMO.

So what I liked was to see how the movies are back on track.
If it wasn't for my friend who wanted company, I would probably not have seen it. So I downloaded Force Awakens and Rogue 1 to get up to speed and make it possible to enjoy Last Jedi.

You know, in Rogue 1, how everything can be solved by reaching that *one* switch? Just for the sake of it placed in a very odd and not especially strategic place?
These things put me off and Last Jedi had some of them too.

I agree on the Casino, but for me it was more a throwback to the extremely boring, and lengthy, Casino-scene in Casino Royal (Bond. This scene totally wrecked a good Bond-movie).

The Codebreaker was just to much. Destroyed a lot and although I didn't think of it the same way as you, I totally agree.
The Rich vs Poor and how the 0.1 percent is stinky rich because of the suffering from the rest of us is just political statements that doesn't belong in entertainment like this. And when Laura Dern does her move a minute later, why doesn't we get to enjoy the horrible death of this prick?
Probably because he had served his political statement purpose and was out of the movie.
The casino scene in general was misplaced IMO.

When you got Jedi-skills and can do cool stuff like the Darth Vader choke thing and move a mountain of rocks, how can you nearly lose a battle with some lousy, although well-trained, guards?
It destroys it a bit for me. And yes, when they were in front of Snopes I actually thought "here we go again".

So it sounds like I didn't like it after all, but I did.

What I liked the most though was to see Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Laura Dern shine as actors.
Luke Skywalkers Bad Ass (Punisher like) behavior towards the end was really good and a good twist.

In Rogue One I was glad to see that the Storm Troopers had improved their aim. I do not support Troopers, but they should be able to shoot a bit better than in previous movies |lol|
Although they still move in groups in a way that a single grenade can take out a Battalion. |pokefun|

So, there's my answer :)

I agree with you on the Rogue One thing with the switch in the tower |banghead| but what really confused me was how fucking angry & mean Vader was at the end of the movie compared to how he was really just an imposing evil figure 5 min later at the beginning of A New Hope.

I still have to see Last Jedi again....
