I searched Google for "strange sex laws in the us" for this thread & came across this page:

So I highlighted & copied the title of the article from the page & then pasted it into the reply box & this is what showed up:

I thought that I might have accidentally copied some extra text, but I didn't. I tried it a few more times with other text on the page:

No matter what I copy & paste, it always adds the URL with (I assume) a tracking code.

Has anyone ever seen this before? How are they doing it?

I've always found that rather annoying.

I do a lot of political writing these days, and thats become a standard "feature" in most copies from newspapers or magazines.

yeah, it's a right-click javascript.
