I think that a lot of webmasters would consider that a "trade secret" and not likely answer. That, and many of the "old timers" have literally hundred of them.

I sold all of my domains during the Dot Com crash.

at one time I had over 100, now I'm down to 30 want to buy some

Yeah my server died bigtime, lost 2 days worth of stuff and the total downtime was close to 18 hours - Rubbish!

I have around 5 active sites 4 adult and 1 mainstream and one domain just doing nothing

I still have a few - they are all listed at batchdomains.com :)

Maybe a more interesting question would have been, "how often do you let one of your domains expire?"
