Sat., Nov 7th - MAGA! MAGA! MAGA!

My new mantra. Except blue hat and it stands for Make that Asshole Go Away!

Someone's made baseball caps and is selling them I guess.

Had a nice long hike today. Got some conveyor belt sushi and stopped at some of my favorite shops.

It will be Greek-Italian tonight and then binging Star Wars and relateds on Disney.

Have a great day!

Today is a solid work day - as much as I can possibly do. We too The Husband's father out for Father's Day yesterday. Here in Finland, it is tomorrow, Sunday. Everyone will be out and about, and his other son is taking him out then. We chose to go at a quieter time. The Husband's parents are both over 75, and both high risk. We reserved a table - no waiting. I think there were only about 4 other tables filled in the restaurant so there was plenty of distancing. I had to laugh because they had a sign on the door telling people not to come to the restaurant if they are not feeling well. Only in Finnish, so it wasn't directed at the general population. I have a food hangover and splitting headache today. I don't really care if I never eat again. Yesterday was simply good.

Back to getting stuff done...

With quarantine over I'm at my parents now for the next 4 days visiting, rural Nova Scotia so internet isn't the best but it works. I fly home to Ottawa in 1 week so hanging here for the 4 days visiting then about 4 days to see some friends and my brother before I go home |thumb

Pagan - sounds like a good time

Jolly - hoping the Covid situation is ok for you and the girlfriend?

MAGA but blue? Awesome but why a "the", it's stupid lol. Should just be Make Asshole Go Away, MAGA |facepalm|

Morning. |coffee

It's going to be 20C (70F) here today so I'm going to spend some time outside. I have to change the water in the hot tub and maybe I'll go for a walk. There won't be many days like this before real winter weather sets in.

The final condition on our condo sale was waived so we've finally sold the place. Prices are starting to decline to I'm glad we got out when we did.

Have a good one! |thumb

LOL. So true. It fucks up the flow. I think it is someone in publishing or print that does not include words like the, and, a in their thinking...
Good Catch! I will log back in to twitter later and catch the post and post it here. Don't know them. Its a re-tweet by someone I follow. A gynecologist. Go figure.

I once took a drive through rural Nova Scotia up to Newfoundland. Fuck that is beautiful country, I am envious if you grew up there.

Gratz on the new president!|usa

If it's possible to explain in a few words, why are coastal states blue and mid-country states red? Cities? But Texas got large cities as well (and lots of other states too?)

I'm hoping it's a mild cold that is riding me. My GF hasn't shown any signs of being ill, she got tested today, so hopefully, she'll have an answer tomorrow.

Take care!

The color tells you which party had the majority of votes cast for it. Blue is Democrat, Red is Republican. Some are strongholds, like Texas is almost always Republican. The West Coast (Left Coast) is usually more liberal than the farmbelt states, so it usually goes Blue. Not always, but usually. Hope all is well Jolly.

And now.. the healing of America can begin.

That's my dream too but actually chaos theory probably takes over. Anyway, glad the election is over.

Well, I know that. I wasn't making myself clear.
Rephrasing, why are coastal states democrats?

Coastal states in the west and the northeast attract artists and intellectuals. Boston/Cambridge could be considered America's brain trust. To a similar extent the Bay area, with Berkeley, Stanford and other top schools. There are pockets, even in Texas, like Austin, often called a blue town in a red state. My hero of modern history and politics was a linguistics prof at MIT. I presume he still lives in the area.

An old partner of mine, non adult, once said, Boston is the brains, New York is the money and D.C. makes things change.

I'm aware of this, I visited St. Louis 2+ years ago and learned that it's a somewhat blue town in a red state.
Thanks for clarifying! |shake|

That's a LONG drive lol. You took the ferry then. Yes, I grew up in a suburb of Halifax my entire life. Halifax is well know for friendly people but also a ton of bars downtown per capita. I went to university in Halifax, played varsity basketball for SMU (Saint Mary's University) so I know the city and Nova Scotia well of course. When I was 20, before going back to college and SMU, I worked for an insurance company that focused on the rural rea so I have to almost every inch of Nova Scotia lol. Spent my entire life in the Halifax area until I was 31 when I moved to Ottawa, over 20 years ago. I've driven to Newfoundland many many times! I worked for a company in my early/mid 20s that had an office in St. John's and actually spent a few months there when setting up that office/store. St. Johns and Newfoundland, also beautiful people, if you can understand that hard Newfie accent haha.
