Sites on different servers/IP's
Do you think it makes a difference SEO wise by having sites on separate servers or IP's?
|
Im not going to stand up with my flashing neon "SEO Expert" sign but I don't think it really matters about how many sites or how many IPs are being used.
I dont think that having them all on one server/IP will hurt your PR per say, but if you inter-link all of them it will more than likely affect your link back weight. |

Most of the hosting companies offers cheap or even free IP for each domain. |
The biggest difference it makes is in the amount of money you can charge for links amongst the crowd that believes that it makes a difference. For your own use, it's not going to make a difference.
Well-built pages and a solid host will make a greater impact when it comes to gaining SE traffic. |
Thanks guys - I was reading some sites of "the crowd that believes that it makes a difference" and it got me thinking
But now I'll stop thinking :) |
I have over 100 domains all on the same ip with interlinking and lots of SE rankings. That's all I have to go on. Maybe having different IPs would help, but I don't worry about it.

I used to think that IPs were important.
But you could say the same about whois info.... probably a more reliable way of associating sites together. |
