Got into a huge fight with our contractor yesterday over money & ended up telling him we'd finish the kitchen on our own. He's "family" - he's Yell's (RIP) wife's cousin - and that always makes this stuff awkward. We feel that he's been compensated more than fairly (avg of $500/day for him & 1 worker and we're talking 3-6 hours/day) & he thinks he hasn't. So, looks like dummy is gonna dust off his copy of The Home Reference Book: The Encyclopedia of Homes so I can |banghead| |facepalm| all weekend.

We've got the solar panel people coming today to do a site evaluation. Did mention that we did decide to go solar? The loan (after the tax credits) is basically the same cost/month as our electric bill, but the loan goes away in 10 years |thumb

After that, the ASSIL & I are borrowing a trailer so we can load up a bunch of old tube TVs & take them to this Electronics Recycling Event, which is sponsored by a GOP NYS Senator that's clearly taking advantage of gerrymandering, but I do love hugging trees |virgohippy| so I'll be bipartisan tomorrow in the name of ✌️♻️🌎👫👬👭

Work for me today. I did fuck off at 5pm yesterday, which is still a full days work lol, to go to a friends for a few beers.

$500/day for a contractor that is family is TOTALLY fair. His worker is what, $15-20/hour? Even at 8 hours the contractor friend is getting $350/day (or more). Not standard contractor rip-you-off rates LOL but more than fair. Shit that's $50/hour on a 7 hour day and you said he's working more like 6 and under. Yes it's fair for friends.
