My First freeSite - Please advise!

Here's the link to my first free site:
http://www.mansonfamilyfreakshow.com...choolgirls.htm

I'm not sure about the active background, but that's why Im here. I'm very new to all this, so any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Not too bad. Might want to add a pic to each gallery to make 12 pics. Also, maybe put the site title on the index page as well, like you did on the galleries.

That background is pretty cool!

For me the background is too distracting. It's cool, but you want surfers focused on your ads not your back ground.

I see quite a few links that will be seen as blind, like "Click Here". Also some of the text over laps. The 2257 text overlaps the text after the "Click here" on my screen. Also on the main menu, the banner at the bottom could be seen as blind.

Oddly some of your thumbs don't work, show broken image, kind of random as I reloaded the page.

I'll work on adding the extra pics - I noticed while searching for places to list this that 24 pics does seem to be the magic number.

As for the site title - I will replace the Freakshow title with the Naughty Schoolgirl Title from the galleries!

Hopefully I'll get this completed tonight.... Thanks

I understand the background could be distracting - but I thought I would try something new. Being a relatively new website - I'm experimenting to see what works and what doesn't. If it don't work - its a quick fix.

As far as blind links - I don't mean to flaunt my newbie stature, but I don't know what that means. If someone could advise me as to its definition, I would certainly work to fix that as I want my galleries to meet industry standards.

The thumbs not working has to do with traffic overflow, or I'm pretty sure thats it. I have a TGP that was listed on The Hun today and everytime that happens I too get the broken links that I have to refresh to get rid of. I'm still using a shared server as my site just opened in March and I'm not making enough to switch to my own. If there's a fix for this besides getting my own server - I'd be happy to
hear it. But I do plan on getting my own once business picks up.

Thanks very much!

At a quick glance:

- Title not present on warning page.
- At least one link list in your recip table is closed to all submissions.
- As stated, the banner on the main page is blind.
- As stated, poorly formed HTML on the gallery pages causing text overlap.
- Hidden WHOIS.
- Exit link on domain root is to D*sney. (They aren't fond of being linked to by adult sites.)

Im not sure what title youre referring to on the warning page. The title heading isn't exactly as it reads on the page but I saw rules for at least one link list requiring a certain number of words in the title heading (or I misunderstood their point). The Title(.gif) on the actual page did read MansonFamilyFreakshow at one point, but I changed that to match the galleries.

I unlinked the banners that were brought up as being blind (next time I'll be sure to put the site name on them when they're designed as I didn't know enough to do so with those).

The recips I listed were just places I was checking out to see the various rules sites have. I posted them on the page so it would look more genuine - I'll only post recips to sites I submit to once I start submitting.

The poorly formatted text I'm still not seeing. I did drop my 2257 notice a couple lines hoping that would fix that problem - but on the galleries, nothing shows as overlapping in my IE browser (is IE the standard in browsers or should I look into something else).

I don't have a clue what Hidden WHOIS means - but again - I'm all for fixing whatever needs fixed once I know what it means!

Thanks much!

Hidden whois means this

http://whois.domaintools.com/mansonfamilyfreakshow.com

A lot of LL's won't list sites if the registration info is hidden.

ronnie 2007-07-23 07:57 AM

A linked "Click Here" by itself is blind, blind because it does not say where it is going.

As for the thumbs not working. Good chance a Reviewer is not going to refresh the page, will just hit delete.

Your new and your submitting to the hun? you sure are testing..:) Not going to cut it on shared.

I personally don't like the background as I think its distracting and just speaking personally, I think it detracts from the content on the page and what you are trying to sell.

Most people you work with and trade traffic with, do not like or approve of blind links in general so I think that should be fixed right away. Remember, you are here to sell the surfer, so there's no reason to put a blind link on your first page. Make your sales pitch and hope to send quality traffic to the sponsor.

Good luck!

Matt

I am about to experiment with this with some AVS sites, but I *think* you might do better by watermarking the pictures with your full domain name. Thinking branding here, especially in case the pictures end up being shared somewhere.
