Question to GreenGuy about bl.usefulscripts.com

Hello, I've found my domain (quality-xxx-porn-sites.com) on the blacklist. What does "Bogus whois hosting" mean? And how is it possible to remove my domain from blacklist?

cd34 2005-06-11 01:15 PM

you might try to appeal it. Since your domain is newly registered, it is possible that the person before you that had it was blacklisted.

RawAlex 2005-06-11 02:02 PM

I wouldn't list the domain like it is either.

Alex

Linkster 2005-06-11 09:41 PM

actually Id be real interested to know why after you had registered it you changed your name and address from a russian to a french name and address?

plateman 2005-06-11 09:53 PM

I've seen that whois before submitting on my LL - what submit name do you use ???

slonic 2005-06-12 01:02 PM

Anybody else?

Linkster 2005-06-12 06:28 PM

I would think the bogus hosting is because of the name change and addy change - just a guess though as it would have gotten blacklisted here for that

MrMaryLou 2005-06-12 06:32 PM

Slonic its very simple why are you hidding where your hosted?

Leon 2005-06-15 04:35 PM

MrMaryLou and Maybe also linkster
please tell me for your opinion which script is better LinksSql or LinkAdmin
i know you are big fans and users of LinkAdmin is there is something special in it that makes it better i will open soon ne LL's and if wondered which script to use

Linkster 2005-06-15 05:16 PM

Leon - I have never used linkssql so Im not really qualified other than to say that I know of at least 4 other WMs that wouldnt use anything else and they do fantastic in the SEs as well

I also am not a great fan of link admin, but that is based on support problems (not general but things like getting mods made etc) but I do own 6 copies I think :)

The next LL Im working on is going to be a LinksSql one so that I can make a better judgement

Leon 2005-06-15 05:26 PM

hmm intresting is there any place where i can see a mod list of LinkAdmin i know LinkSql has tons of mods and plugins and very easy to be editable, i know i did sheet of load personal coding it

Linkster 2005-06-15 06:46 PM

Leon - there arent any LOL - thats the problem :)

yeah sure would be nice to have a link checker and a search feature on your site

Linkster 2005-06-15 07:15 PM

Ya mean like this search?
http://www.linkforsex.com/search.html

:) as far as a link checker - I have one that runs all the time - it finds out what links are not the way they were before and deletes them if thats what you mean? Also - Im not running Link Admin on that site

plateman 2005-06-15 07:33 PM

yeah that will search a link admin data base or you dont have link admin on link f sex ?? also do you know of another link checker that will work with link admin other than using XENU link sluth ??

Linkster 2005-06-15 08:26 PM

nope I dont have link admin on there - but I think Jay was able to come up with one that works with link admin

As far as a link checker - there are a bunch out there but the good ones will cost quite a bit - I use a real old one that was around but isnt anymore and isnt even supported anymore LOL - but the link checker doesnt really have anything to do with the link script - its a separate entity that just checks your html pages for all of the links and tries to follow them and then gives a report.

Bogus name servers

I've been looking for a bot too. I'm always jealous of all these guys talking about their bots pulling links. Damn it. I have to run XENU and I have a simple little PHP link checker script, but it isn't all that impressive. It just reports what it finds on a single page (9,000 links worth of data).

plateman 2005-06-15 10:34 PM

I know what you mean and it takes to fuckin long.. boy it would be nice to have a bot that would report every day and say 20 dead free links or pay instead of the other method...

Leon 2005-06-16 02:53 AM

so LinksAdmin doesnt have built in link checker ?

Linkster 2005-06-16 07:50 AM

Leon - it can do a recip check during the submit process but otherwise no - for checking links you have to use an external program

Useless - we still do pull links by hand after bot runs - now that is just for the "bad" links - I know that Link Admin does have the ability to pull links after a specific time period (like I think GG's setup pulls links after 6 months if the site hasnt been updated)

Leon 2005-06-16 07:55 AM

i see i quess i will probobly stick with old familiar LinksSQL :)

Oh, so maybe those bots aren't as advanced as I imagined they were. I just need to figure out how to get my tiny php link checking script to stop reporting all of the good links to me. I don't care about the the good ones! ;) Makes it very hard to find the bad reports.
