TGP or Free Sites?

If you had to start all over again, would you go all out on free sites or TGP's, which do you feel return the best money for time spent?

I would have thought Free Sites but I noticed on another thread that most 'seem' to prefer tgp's on a daily basis and a free site maybe once a week?

Try both types and see what works for you. I don't know that there is any one right answer here. I personally only do freesites, as I like them more than tgp. |waves|

I'd buy 50 good semi-exclusive niche type pics and do 3 TGP's, 2 Free Sites and one AVS site.
Start with the TGP's, fiddle with them a bit to make your free sites, then use your 4 Free Site galleries as the inside pages of your AVS site.
Max out what you've got and don't depend on one business model. And when you buy your own pics you're not depending on any one sponsor either;)
Or buy 500 good semi exclusive niche type pics and do 30 TGP's, 20 Free Sites, and one mini-paysite premium AVS with recurring income which I would advertise on the TGP's and Free Sites.

Good advice so far, but let me toss another concept into the mix. As you build>submit>repeat day after day after day you should also be working on building traffic to your hubs which you can then turn into your own Linklist or TGP or leave as a hub and filter traffic to other sites that you own.

One of the most valuable skills is the ability to filter and direct traffic to where you want it to go.

The best piece of advice I've received in this biz was this simple statement. "Cutting your conversion rate in half has the same effect as doubling your traffic."

Joneze 2006-12-25 12:48 PM

Do both, just use your TGP Galleries to make your Freesites

One other piece of advice. You should become a regular at MrMaryLou's On The Bench radio show on Saturday afternoon's at 3:00 when he starts up again after the holidays. Even if you're not building free sites the information you can glean from spending just one hour a week is amazing.

Absolutely!
And Toby's earlier advice about hubs is dead on as well. I can't imagine working with out my hubs and my link lst. Well, I can imagine it, but I'd rather not ;)

TGP are more effective for me then free sites

Just like in any other business, you need to use all your skills to stand out.

If you are a good designer - make cool galleries and free sites
If you are a good coder - make original site functionality
If you have good connections in biz - use them to the max
If you have copywriting skills - make galleries and free sites that sell better
If you have big budget - make a webcam paysite with a lot of girls
If you have writing skills - start a blog
If you have a lot of antiquities - sell them on eBay and move to Tenerife

Thank you for all the replies.. Just to make sure I have got this right. Freesite= 1 warning 1 main and two gallery pages, the type that you can apply to get listed with Greenguy. The suggestion then is to submit each of your galleries to TGP's but obviously the TGP is going to want a link back so do you link back from your front warning page or the gallery page, assuming my assumptions are right if that makes sense.

Not really. Start with the galleries, put them up with thier links to to the TGP's, then take the same galleries, take the TGP links off and make a free site with them, upload it to a different directory and submit it to the free site LLs. So you'll end up with 3 "sites", 2 of them TGP's and 1 free site that aren't interconnected but use the same content.

Perfect thanks for that. I have been looking at content, anything from $3-4 to any amount you like. It stands to reason at $3.00 it is probably going to be plastered all over the net. What would you consider a reasonable amount to spend. Okay it will probably depend on Niche and converstions for that Niche so say we pluck Big Boobs out for the content...

For Big Boobs I'd say $10-20 for 50 or so pics is pretty average where I buy, maybe it's cheaper somewhere else but I usually use Web-Legal at http://www.web-legal.com/xtitles/
They've been around for years and have a lot of exclusive deals with top notch photogs in every niche imaginable. Good people to deal with too. I always look at the New Titles first and when I've picked out a couple I phone in my order. The phone is the best because if your looking at a particular niche they'll tell you if something new is coming out.

I would be careful about paying for content, especially if your'e new to this. Most of the content will actually be available by sponsors for affiliates to use. You can talk to your sponsor and get the content any size you need and often without the watermarks too (or at least smaller versions). I have paid for content in the past, only to find out the very same content was available to me for free from my sponsors.

If I asked you to pick a number between 1 and 10, would you be more likely to reply, "73"? |clown|

ok seriously I always work today for the profit in the future so I prefer freesite. Tgps bring lots of (crap) traffic a few days after getting listed then kinda dead. I'm still getting some sales from the freesites from a few years ago. but since both make me money, if I had time, I would do both.
