Damn shame about Tom Petty :( If you haven't watched his rockumentary on Netflix, I highly recommend it. It's 4 hours, but it's really good.

Speaking of Netflix, The Bitch & I started watching Season 2 of Bloodline on Sunday. Yes, we're way behind as there's now 3 seasons. So far S2 is really good.

We also got caught up on The Deuce & watched the season premier of Curb Your Enthusiasm |thumb

Thoughts are still in Vegas...

We had a good visit with my husband's relatives yesterday -- they loved our house. His mom was stunned at how much we had gotten done here... well yeah, since we were not entertaining daily. It felt good to have the house clean and in order. I did a gluten-free applesauce spice cake for them with apples from our tree and it came out perfect. If you didn't know there was no wheat flour in it, you would never ever know.

My mom turned 91 on Sunday, and we had a tough time getting her to answer her phone. She saw our number come up with our 358 area code, but kept hanging up on us because she thought we were scammers. We finally did get to talk to her - about 1am our time.

The last 24 hours have taken a toll. I can't believe what happened in Las Vegas. My mind can't wrap itself around it. There will never be definitive answers as the shooter killed himself. And then the mess with Tom Petty. I need to work today as I didn't get anything done yesterday, but I can't really focus yet.

Just sitting here trying to contemplate the mountain of stuff I have to catch up on while trying to push ahead with doing an adult site or two plus mainstream.

I must say that my first reaction about the Vegas shooting was shock followed by anger. When nothing was done to American gun laws after the massacre of children at Sandy Hook, I knew that this would become a regular occurrence that would just get worse. Sorry to be so negative but what's going to change it? Nothing. It will have to progress to it's natural conclusion and I hate to contemplate what that will be.

Anyhow, despite all the bad news on the TV, I am feeling physically well so I better get to it. |thumb

RIP Tom Petty

Vegas, it's sad but just 1 of 270 mass shootings in the US this year. More will come but hopefully not at this level. Then again...

On a good note we had a good meeting with the surgeon yesterday. Today she has a couple of regular doctor appointments so I don't need to go to those but we have our 2nd support group tonight. Hopefully this will be a better experience for my wife.

When I first noticed the Petty rumors last night I didn't really read it because it looked like he was supposed to be a victim in Vegas, and that the rumors where denied.

Sometimes newspapers doesn't really think through how they place the various reports.

I used to say the same things... after Columbine, after the theater shootings in Colorado and so many others. There are no laws possible that will protect anyone from a determined and/or deranged person. They said he had 23 guns in his room -- 23. What sane person has that many guns in a hotel room? His guns were bought legally too. I do question why anyone needs the type of guns he had, and why they are even sold in the US.

What scares me is the label of "Most" deadly, or "Most" anything. Someone will be fool enough to try to top it. Rational laws on what can be sold and how much ammunition might help keep future events from being so severe. And if you think laws work, look at the drunk driving situation. If laws regulating such behaviors worked, you would not have any more drunk drivers anywhere.

Yes. Not trying to sound like your President now, but Media does have a responsibility here.
One Norwegian paper pretty quick had a headline that said: "He filmed when the shooting started (beware: strong impression)".
The last bit there looks more like bait, than a warning, to me...

Someone will try to top this.

I just have to provide some financial info from 2014 that shows The Bitch recv'd 1/2 of that year's payroll from the company (otherwise it looks like I made too much that year) 2015 & 16's payroll, on the other hand, well there's no disputing I made nothing close to their ceiling|lol|

Guns: I personally hate guns. I've never shot one & have only held one a couple of times & each time I did, I became very uncomfortable. That being said, I understand the right to own them & as the old saying goes: Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

Been busy as hell. Tom Petty, sad news. ,Even worse news is what happened in Vegas, what the fuck is Wrong with people? Seriously! To randomly sit there and shoot people you don't even fucking know, fuck.
