Joomla...

I have a pending project, building a sizable integrated database application. The client is asking about using Joomla, as opposed to building a site from scratch.

There will be a large index of names, with associated information.

There will be an even larger index of images, each associated with one of those names, with other pertinent attributes about the image.

I need to be able to pull up individual names, along with thumbs for all photos associated.

I also need to pull up similar thumb indexes based on specific attributes, i.e outdoor, night, redhead, etc.

As I see it, this is well beyond what Joomla is capable of doing.

Am I missing something? Thx

They already have Joomla in use on the site for another application.

It's been a while since I did a new site in Joomla. I maintain a few but these days it's mostly WP.

There's a tool in Joomla called a wrapper. You could wrap the site around a TGP or tube script.

Unless I was doing a blog, I wouldn't use Joomla for a porn site.

Thanks, that's pretty much the impression I got looking at the Joomla site. Like most template driven, out of the box CMS packages, they're targeted to a specific range of business types.

What I'll be doing is for a non-profit org that is building a reference database.

Isn't Joomla that game you play where you end up in the jungle and meet up with Alan Quartermain and the whole world goes topsy turvy and all that?

Oh, wait, that's Jumanji, I always get those two confused.

Never Mind.
