IFrame & Geo Ads on Freesites?

What's the general rule with IFrame and Geo ads on freesites? I've never used them, but I've seen some that look pretty good, and I might like to try them out. Of course there's no point in using them if the FS is going to get rejected.

So if the IFrame/Geo ads are a reasonable size, come from a reputable sponsor that won't slip in a trojan, and don't have a bunch of thumbnail-looking pics, will it get accepted?

Thanks.

Dave

I accept them, because they are damn effective, and I like those who submit to me to be able to make a buck.
I use them as well, but not so much on free sites because a lot of LL's will not accept them.
Another reason I don't build many fs's anymore.

I'm ok with them as well as long as they don't break any other rule and I do test each one by hand if i'm not familiar with the one You're using

I wish more link lists would let us use them but I'm afraid they won't. I might consider letting my submitters use them on their FS if A) I know the submitter and B) I know the sponsor.

I don't have a problem with them, especially if they're coming from a trusted submitter like all you GG&J'ers. :D

My experience is that the majority dont accept them (Iframes) - there is a vulnerability with them but I wish more would allow as well.

Well there is 7 lists above me that will accept these . Anymore?

CaptainJSparrow 2008-05-14 09:55 AM

I'll accept them too...no worries here.

LD 2008-05-14 10:10 AM

I'll accept them. When I'm building and submitting, I doubt if I would bother to make mirrors just for a few list that do accept them, however. I, too would like to see them accepted more.

japamor 2008-05-14 05:04 PM

I'd accept them too, from trusted submitters.

I'll accept them from "trusted" submitters

It is an old thread but I wonder if in 2010 more LLs are accepting IFrame & Geo Ads on freesites?

I do not know of any that do not allow them although some require trusted submitter or partner accounts.

My main concern with these is that you have no control over what might show on your site, especially when a sponsor folds.

With iframes my worries are similar, since it is very easy to do shady things, such as switching out recip links and such.

That said, if you are someone who I see submitting quality sites on a regular basis, and/or the geo ad is from a reputable sponsor I will let them slide.

I'll allow it if the banner is within reason and not a blindlinking add imo

I don't really have a problem with them as long as they load properly, and don't hold up the overall load time of the page.
