I just did a test with your user info using Firefox and the submit went right though as normally.

Since I've now used up your one site per day with a test submit you can PM me the submit info and I'll get it in there for you.

Maybe try refreshing my submit page as I've been adding features and categories to it and maybe your loading an older form.

Licker4U 2009-04-13 03:06 PM

Thanks Cleo, I used IE but will PM you the info and try again tomorrow with a new site.

Cleo 2009-04-13 03:37 PM

Wow do I loath IE...
There was a coding error on my submit form that caused it to fail in IE.

Did a test submit using Windows IE, fixed. :)

Bill 2009-04-13 05:45 PM

That explains why my sub yesterday didn't work.

Cleo 2009-04-13 05:48 PM

Bill if you like you can PM me the site and I'll get it in for you.

Note to self. IE is picky about the submit button being inside of the closing form tag.

I honestly didn't think any webmasters used IE anymore so wasn't testing my webmaster stuff under it. Guess I'll be testing my submit stuff in IE from now on.

Bill 2009-04-13 06:37 PM

I use firefox for personal stuff more and more.

But IE is still the business standard, as far as I can tell. So it's what I use for business most of the time.

Firefox is nice tho. I can see the day coming when I abandon IE.

Tho I'll always be wondering - how does this look in IE? Is my surfer seeing the same thing I'm seeing?

I check most of my stuff in IE. I can't believe how ugly it renders pages but it is god for catching coding errors. It seems especially picky about tables.

On another subject...
I just added four more gay categories, Bears, Hunks, Twinks, and Latino.

Also I've decided to mix blogs with my other listings and give them a site type of Blog.

I like wrapping thumbs around big handmade single banners too much to submit to your TGP and my blogs are only a month old (but with lots of vids).

The 264 thing is great though. I think flowplayer3 allows you to embed them, which is pretty sweet. FLV is on its way out as soon as embedded 264s starts getting a little easier. (although it probably is easy, but not with the embedder I use with my blogs right now). I should look into doing some free sites with embedded 264s.

Doing some testing last night, the same file, same size looked 100% better and was half the size as a 264 as it was in flv form.

If you do h.264 vids and use a Flash player like JW Player to embed them but also provide a link to the h.264 file mobile devices like the iPhone can also view them. It's the best of both worlds since just about everyone has Flash but not everyone wants to install quicktime.
(yes I know that there are other players for h.264 but most surfers only know about quicktime)

You mean like a FPA with samples? |huh

Cleo 2009-04-17 11:24 AM

Fixed my submit from this morning, thanks for the ICQ heads up. :)

I made changes to my htaccess yesterday and I'm still finding paths that need to be changed so if you come across another issues please let me now.

I can't seem to get mp4's to play using IE and FF. I use JW, and flv's work fine. With mp4's I get the progress bar moving but a black screen. I've tried 2 different converters....

Cleo 2009-04-18 08:09 PM

This is the code I'm using.
Code:

I don't convert my mp4 but link to it using the above code.

To play mp4 files on your PC without putting them in a flash player you would need something like QuickTime to play them.

I played around with that...guess I'll stick with flvs...:). Too many formats to keep up anyhow. I do like the idea of people being able to use iPhone.

iPhones, iPods, AppleTV, just to name a few don't do Flash but play h.264 (mp4 or mv4) movies. This is why YouTube switched to the h.264 format.

My surfers:

IE 68.5%
FF 17.7%
Safari 5.4%

Operating Systems

Windows 87%
Unknown 5%
Mac 5.4%

So as a webmaster I'm sticking with Windows and IE until the numbers change

Cleo 2009-04-21 01:07 PM

Yeah, I was only talking about webmasters who are usually more tech savvy.
I leave Windows IE open all the time to check my surfers pages on, just wasn't checking my webmasters pages.

I surf with Safari but use Firefox for reviewing and checking along with Windows IE. From reading the boards and seeing what my PC friends used it seemed most were using Firefox these days.

CL stats from today
Windows 81.2 %
Unknown 9.6 %
Macintosh 7.9 %
Linux 0.6 %

MS Internet Explorer 66.1 %
Firefox 13.9 %
Safari 7.9 %
Unknown 6.4 %
Opera 2.2 %
Mozilla 1.7 %
Netscape 0.8 %
Nokia Browser (PDA/Phone browser) 0.2 %
Samsung (PDA/Phone browser)0.1 %
Sony/Ericsson Browser (PDA/Phone browser) 0.1 %
My stats doesn't break down iPhone users but lumps them in with Safari.

stuveltje 2009-04-21 02:39 PM

its surprised me how much people used ie more the last months and for real beats me for the why, a year ago my surfers where more firefox then ie, now i see again more ie then firefox, which i realy realy didnt expected, but i also see an increase by mobile phone and psp

I have a dirty old man BLOG I've had up for several years with 3+ years of archives, and I'd like to get it listed, but I see I need a submitter account.

Here's my blog: www.oldmanporn.com

Do you also do sites? Do you have more blogs? What else, if anything, do you submit to places?

ponyman 2010-11-24 01:04 AM

Yes, I have a few other sites (AVS & TGP). Revamping most of them, now, though. OldManPorn has been up for some time, but I'm just now starting to submit it to LL. Mostly gets SE traffic. It's my only blog.

Cleo 2010-11-24 07:19 AM

You have a PM. :)

Freaky 2010-11-24 05:37 PM

Hey Cleo,

I am just getting back in the biz and looking for places to submit free sites I will be building such as http://www.shemalesandtranssexuals.c...tshemalesluts/

For an example... Also, I am starting a blog, and getting a Link LIst going again as well.

It seems most of the places I used to submit to are either DOA or the traffic has just dried up. Anyways, what are your requirements for becoming a trusted submitter?

Also, if you are interested, I will be looking for traffic trades for my link list (hard links) once I get it going. Right now I am still tweaking the script/layout.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Freaky |potleaf|
