Question to LinkList owners

Hi Big Bros & Sis,
I followed the rules, and I got listed again. Thank you.|shake|

Here is another Q,

I know that a thumb/ a banner looks like thumbs linked to sponsor is a blind link which will get rejected out right. How about few extra thumbs on the gallery which are not linked to anything?

There will be normal minimum 10 thumbs per gallery leading to big pics. In addition to that can I have few more thumbs which are not linked to anything.(not to sponsor, not to pics, just thumbs). Some of the big TGPs doesn't allow this. But then Link Lists are not TGps.

Neo|jackinthe

Why would you want to have thumbs that aren't linked to anything?

What is the plan here?

Alex

I would say any thumb just linked to a sponsor would be a blind link to me :)

valec 2004-01-12 04:17 PM

It's no problem for me.. but I really want to learn why do you want to have thumbs that aren't linked to anything??

blind 2004-01-12 04:34 PM

for example,
you have freesite with any model and at bottom of gallery you want put some thumbs from her other sets...
of course thumbs without any text under and links to sponsor are unnecessary and it waste your bw.. ;)

Doesn't worry me if it fits with the design of the site...

Is there are reason behind why people dont like unlinked thumbs?

unlinked thumbs sounds like the orig TGP2 plan :)

jennym 2004-01-12 09:06 PM

I wouldn't decline you for it. But, as blind suggests, it would be pretty useless without some text link under them.

Wazza 2004-01-12 10:48 PM

No issues here whatsoever - providing they're at one end of the gallery (top, bottom, sides) - intermingled with the clickable thumbs would be an issue...

Hi,
Thanks for replying. By the way, no need to be suspecious Bros. I don't have any plans to be a cheat. Its just to add up the overall look of my site. I will make a site and submit to you guys. But I promise, I will never cheat. That's the reason, before I try anything I want to make absolute sure that, you guys are ok with it.
Thanks again,
Neo|jackinthe

I've seen a lot of sites with "unlinked thumbs". I think it's just parts of a marketing strategy. There's an implicit suggestion that the surfer will see more of the content represented by the thumbs if they visit the sponsor. It can also be used to improve the look of the site.

It's fine with me, but I will say that I have bookmarked a number of them, just to make sure that the thumbs don't magically become linked. ;)

Thumbs like that can add to the marketing approach. Many do it showing other sets of the same model or of other models on the site like you said.

Here's a sample I've done before:

Perfectly fine with everyone as far as I know.

CrazySy 2004-01-13 01:48 PM

I do that with most of my sites on the main page :)

I don't see any problems with it. I use that form of advertisements alot. Some extra teasers to entice them to click.
