Im Told that Greg Gregory Passed Last Night

That is the word Im getting is that he died of a heart attack last night in Fla - more as I get it - or if anyone else knows?

selena 2005-08-18 01:36 PM

There is word of it elsewhere, yes, and the information has been verified on that board. Apparently he was found dead at his desk, and the cause has been listed as heart attack.

My sympathies to his family, and those of you who called him friend.

Cleo 2005-08-18 01:38 PM

This is shocking. :(

Looked in the local newspaper but didn't find any thing with his name but I'm not sure if that was his real name or not.

That just totally sucks. I never like to hear of someone going out that way. Supposed to be very painful and the mind seems to know what is happening. I wish his family and friends the best. Anyone know if its possible to send flowers or something to the wake?

Im willing to throw in $50 for flowers if anyone is in the area and can get them ordered to be sent to the wake. Could do it via epassporte if anyone wants to take up the logistics problems.

I'm sorry this has to be my first post on this board. I just started working with Greg and Ernie the beginning of this month sending out orders from Greg's content site. I guess I was the last to see Greg alive on Tuesday. I went over to his apartment to try to help him straighten out some computer issues. We were together from about 1:00 PM till about 5:30 PM. I've only known Greg for a few months, but he seemed fine, in good spirits and his usual upbeat self that afternoon. When I left him, he was sitting at the computers getting ready to start backing up all his data in case the drive failed. We made plans for a lunch meeting the next day.

I had a real friend in Greg. This is so totally unexpected, my heart is just broken.

Who is he ?

cd34 2005-08-19 02:24 AM

Greg Gregory is a Miami/Aventura Florida based photographer -- definitely one of the top few in the industry. I had dinner with him a few years back and if you didn't have the pleasure, Greg is one of the most opinionated people and extremely passionate about photography and politics. Ironically, we hooked up again just recently because he dialed a wrong number during the 2257 debacle.

Greg is the kind of guy you really liked and respected within minutes of meeting him. Even though we only talked a few dozen times in the last few years, each time we talked it was like we hadn't had any lapse between phone calls.

He will be missed.

http://www.greg-gregory.com/ is his site if you wanted to see examples of his work.

Fonz 2005-08-19 03:27 AM

Rest In Peace Greg...

This is indeed sad news. He was really a nice guy. I still have some content he gave away on another board just so we could all see the Quality of his content. I mean he actually let all of us (like 250 people) go in and pick their own sets.

Over the years we've had on going conversations and more recently over the 2257 stuff.

He will certainly be missed!!

Kre8t0r 2005-08-20 01:06 AM

I just got word from Ernie to let everyone know the Content store is open again at greg-gregory.com..

Think I may buy a few sets to remember the sheer talent of a great photographer... Greg I hope you are looking down with a cold one and a smile bro.
