Tell me about it

I had to use a partners page as my default submit page to see new submits and keep current

Took me a long time filtering the huge backlog Murray had at about 20 a time into my new submits every day to catch up

....I don't mostly list my own, I list my trusted submitters + a couple of fhs.

Okay then, Private Holes is NOT a suspected vampire, just behind on reviews.

And I do recognize that many lists which could be called vampires are really just neglected (and for good reasons arguably, considering the downturn).

Being a small linklist owner and reviewer can be a sucky and thankless position.

So, how come everybody doesn't switch to autoapprove with trusted submitter accounts?

What scripts can handle autoapprove with partner accounts these days anyways?

So very true!

I have a trusted page that can be set to auto (custom script) but I still like taking a quick peak to make sure someone did not make a mistake. I have had the description in the url section and url in the email area.

You wouldn't believe some of the mistakes that I see at my LL. URL in the description is pretty common.

Then there are people that seem to think a pornstar can also be amateur or a solo teen can be hardcore. I still approve just about everything but very often adjust the category.

I also often rewrite descriptions so that my LL won't have the same exact text as all the other LLs.

My TGP is on auto pilot but I still look at what is being submitted regularly. This week's pet peeve is people putting my recip all by itself.

I envy LL's with scripts, but I like the look of mine, and it's done by hand. If there was a way to keep the design and have it run by a script I'd switch in a minute.
Auto-approve would be cool with me as well since that's basically what I'm doing now for my partners, a script would save me close to an hour a day.

Clicking the webmaster link takes me to a login page with no extra info.

I'll send you a PM with the link to sign up. It's not just a partner link list, it's a private link list, so I don't link to that page anywhere. I don't want random newbies adding links to crap.

I'm fairly sensitive about this particular site - especially the descriptions and tags. Once inside, you'll see my anal little guides on tagging, descriptions and such. Outside of those details and the need for a simple text recip, it's very much like Earl. No daily limit. You can link to pretty much any page/gallery/site/hub/blog/post/whatever you own. I don't have any real content restrictions or demands. (My rules say 10 images per gallery on a free site, but I'm a big fan of hybrid/free style design, so even that doesn't count. Also, I've never rejected screen caps.) I don't have any banned sponsors. Sponsor iframes, hosted banners, etc. are perfectly fine. No FHGs as gallery pages though. As anal as I am about certain things with text and tags, I try not to infringe on a webmaster's ability to earn a living or be creative in their technique.

My permissiveness when it comes to content and design is pretty much what made me realize that it was pointless to review. I have only ever accepted webmasters who I considered trustworthy and capable. I do receive the rare email from a submitter about a typo in a title, but nothing major. Perv has been on automatic for a year or so, and I've never discovered anything added since then that I wouldn't have accepted myself. If I run across something that bothers me in the tags or description, I'll edit it.

Don't think that I scan the site for typos and grammatical errors. In actuality, I barely look at it in that context. I generally don't read the descriptions at all.

If you sign up and decide you don't want to submit to it, that's fine. No hard feelings. But have a look around and see what you think. :)

No. But someday, most likely within the following year, the entire site will be for sale.

speaking of reviewing I have a bit todo today, I run anywhere to whenever to 4 or 5 days the most, unless something happens as had the last 10 days ago

This is a good idea. I'm sure most scripts would accommodate this feature if you dig around the code a little. I'll have a look today to see if I can get it done with LinkAdmin.

I can tell you this: I vastly prefer spending my limited time analyzing ad placements and traffic flow rather than scrutinizing free sites. Reviewing sucks sweaty, unshaved balls.

Yep, trusted submits are now auto-approved. If anyone wants to know how I did this with LinkAdmin, I'd be happy to share.
