A late congrats is in order here :)

My collection is limited to Buddy Christ. He is still standing next to my computer. People sometimes ask me if I'm religious if they see him. I never answer that question...

jollyhumper 2015-03-19 04:45 PM

Congratulations from me as well.

But that took a while, didn't it?

The best answer for that question is to point out that there is no proof that God exists, but there is also no proof that he does not exist. So only a complete moron would answer either "yes" or "no" to that question.

The good thing about that answer is that when people ask you about your religion, 90% of the time they want an excuse to tell you why their belief (or non-belief) is the Truth. But pointing out to them that having any belief either way would make them a moron usually shuts them up before they start!

Although if you are pushed and have to give a yes or no answer, always say that you do not believe in God. This is because people who evangelise about atheism tend to go on for longer and be a lot more insistent that you agree they are correct, that these who evangelise about God (any god).

Spot on! I just had this discussion an hour ago.
I do not believe he exists, but who am I to state that as a fact?

The word believe is a key here.

So now this thread is the ultimate one. It has everything. Sex, religion and money ( somewhere in the middle )

But it don't got drugs. :(

Greenguy 2015-03-20 09:39 AM

Drugs?! Where?! Can I have some???? :D

CD Smith 2015-03-20 02:15 PM

Politics.

The last ingredient that should be in any thread is politics. :D

Steven Harper's a closet narcoleptic!
Obama is soft on incremental georotational desabilizationism!

There, thread complete.

Now about those drugs... got any good anti-inflam/muscle relaxers?

When I used to work for a big company, when someone had something to celebrate (birthday, promotion, winning an award, etc.) they would bring in cake and share with everyone. Since you are the one winning an award, I think you should be the one bringing in the drugs and sharing.

So come on..... Give!

Ha. Okay I'll play. I have some 750 mg SI (24 hr slow-release) Naproxins for pain relief.

Gabapentin (repairs nerve damage for some) (I take it for sciatica)

Got some expired vitamins I can throw in.

Damn I just realized my pharmaceuticals I have on hand SUCK. |huh

I had a really bad upper back/neck jam-up about 15 years ago, and something called "Norflex" was prescribed to me. It was half anti-inflammatory and half muscle relaxant. Damn did they ever work well, cleared up that horrible pain and immobility I had in about one day. (I suffered with it for an entire week at the behest of my chiropractor)

But Norflex isn't available in Canada any longer. At least not where I am.

I heard that the kids these days are snorting Gabapentin - I was on it for a little bit a long time ago, but the side-effects were too much.

What were your side effects?

I took them for 2 months, 1 per day (300 mg). I'm not really sure what effect(s) they've had on me, as I have a lot of little symptomy things always going on.

I can't say I feel WORSE from them though. But I'd like to hear what you went through while taking them.

Edit; I'm convinced kids will snort anything these days. As long as it's got a nice long confusing pharmaceutical name even grandma's gout pills all crushed up will suffice. |lol|

jollyhumper 2015-04-01 03:32 PM

hmmmm, except for the stuff the doctor prescribes me, I don't do drugs.
So why haven't we talked about alcohol? You've all heard the Ian Dury song "Sex,drugs and Alcohol |loony|" :-p

Reconfigurering my workstation, only survivable thing to do is to drink beer along with the process

Have we covered it all now?

My joints, especially my knees, were killing me - and I guess that is a common side effect.

I used to be like that, until I checked myself into detox on April 11th :D

Maybe that's why I didn't notice side effects. I have general achiness in my back and stemming FROM my back into pretty much all over, it's a standard thing with me. So some extra of that wouldn't really register much. ha

Haven't had any problems with my knees though, that's one small blessing. :D

On a side note a muscle in my upper back decided to act up last week. Woke up Thursday morning and couldn't move. Neck, shoulder and right arm were virtually imobilized, incredible pain. But as luck would have it I found an old prescription in the back of my med cupboard for celebrex (muscle relaxer). 18 hours and 3 pills later I was able to move around again.

Those pills were way WAYYY out of date though. :D (but thank God I had them)
