Ads are not related to the AVS, upsell whatever you like.
Each AVS program allows a different number of links out on each page within your site so you have to check with the program. Usually its 1 or 2 links out. I like using 1 link out to a seperate page that I can list any number of sponsors to cross sell. NetVerifier has there own program that they cross sell in the members area, but you get 50% credit for it, which is nice and starts adding up as well.

Basic structure is very similar to a freesite. You need a page for their sign up code and a members area page either with your content on that or links out to each gallery page. They usually want a graphic built title on all your pages. All this needs to be approved by them. What you build prior to those pages is up to you. I personally start with 2000+ images (some with videos and weekly updates) but the minimum requirement is usually around 300, check with the program to see for sure.
