We Will Miss
You Dravyk RIP.
We lost one of good ones
last week Dravyk. Those who knew him and for those who didn’t he
was a true pioneer in this industry and a great man. Here is a post
made by Greenie over at Netpond and really tells it all about this
man and how amazing he was.
Wow. This is a tough
post. I'm still in Vegas on vacation & MrMaryLou called me yesterday
with the sad news. But it didn't really click in until I read Electra's
posts as well as everyone else's. Dravyk was there when Emerald
talked me into joining a group of webmasters with a strange acronym
as a name. He was, in my eyes, the 1st Adult Webmaster Reporter.
I always pictured him working at home wearing a fedora with an XXX
PRESS sign in the band.
For those that were not around in
the late 90's, Drav had a massive presence in the industry news
& I know I always read whatever he posted or emailed out. To
this day, I still read the All Of'Em newsletter whenever it shows
up in my inbox. He might have been overshadowed by some of the bigger
news sites, but they were only there because of the foundation that
was built by Dravyk.
Like most people that you used to work
with, I fell out of touch with him over the years. I did speak to
him via email a couple months ago. I sent him a press release &
even though we'd not communicated much prior to that, he gave me
a great location in the next newsletter. He always took care of
his friends.
When I 1st met him & we got to talking,
I'll admit that I thought it was a little creepy that a grown man
was still living with his mother. But after I learned a bit more
about him, it became clear that this was a man that loved his mother
& wanted to take care of her. It may be a hack line, but it
seems like he died of a broken heart.
I don't think any of
us can even grasp how much he'll be missed, but in the industry
& as a friend. My sincere condolences go out to his family and
especially Electra, who I know will miss Dravyk more than any of
us.
