Our Xbizaward Nomination

For the past 3 years we have been nominated for the Xbiz Online Community of the Year award. This year was no different. And each year, being associated with the other sites nominated has made us very proud. This year, our nomination should have made us more proud than any other year. We decided not to participate in the "Vote For Us" campaign Xbiz had for the nominations. And yet, we were still nominated.

This campaign seems to have brought out the worst in people and there are a few sites on the nomination list that we prefer to not be associated with.

It is with regret that we are asking Xbiz to please take GreenguyandJim off the list of nominees for this award. Perhaps next year, there will be more to being a nominee than the ability to stuff the ballot box.

I do thank all our members that voted for us. As I said, we never posted a link nor asked to be nominated. And yet, you guys came through for us.

With that said, the above was both posted on GreenguyandJim and sent to Helmy of Xbiz. We let Helmy know that we were insulted to be on any list with sponsorchat. Mediumpimpin agreed and requested to be taken off the list as well. He obliged and removed us from the list and yet today, we received our nomination package.

Once Helmy found out why we wanted to be removed from the nomination list, he asked me to send him links of people complaining about sponsorchat's scamming ways. We did that and Helmy thought it better for Xbiz to sit on the fence than to do what is right for the webmaster community as a whole. He actually replied back asking me to get 7 other nominees to request sponsorchat's removal but I let him know that it was more his job and they really should have at least looked at the nominees before announcing them. But again, Xbiz appears to be one of the great fence sitters of our time.

This really bothers me for more than the obvious reasons. I have said many times that someone needed to put on a webmaster show that was truly for the webmasters. As most have seen, AVN has dropped the ball and their attendance has dropped over the years. I believe and have said, Xbiz was in a perfect position to take over the main webmaster shows because of their honesty and integrity. And mostly, because they seemed to have a real feel about the business we all know and love. But, are they really the only people in this business that don't know about sponsorchat? Are they really that much out of touch with the webmaster community? I believe it is time for Xbiz to come off their imagined High Horse and see what is happening in the real Adult Webmaster World.

Have a Great Day!
Greenguy and Jim
