Zango, A Witch Hunt Is Not The Way

Since the beginning of cheating webmasters, there has always been the thought of dragging sponsors to the light and have a good old fashioned public hanging. While some times that works, I am afraid that this time it is the wrong path.

During the past few weeks I have been looking at Zango very, very closely. I have spoken to many sponsors that have shown up in a Zango toolbar and 99 times out of 100, they had no idea they were being used.

By now, most of you have seen the famous Bestbuy/Netflix movie. In case you haven't take a look HERE. Looking at this movie, you can see that Netflix paid for a special deal with Bestbuy. And Bestbuy paid for a television commercial. So, who made money during this movie? Well, it appears that both Zango and the scumbag Netflix affiliate were the only people that made any money. Not only is that the case but, they were the only 2 that didn't lose a ton of money. It wasn't Bestbuy running the Zango toolbar and it wasn't Netflix...I think you see what I am saying.

A lot of people seem to think that Zango is a new service. They have been hurting mainstream webmasters and sponsors alike for many years. They are only new to us. The only way to truly fight them is to get the word out and fight this from our end.

The next thing to come around will be cookie stuffing. This will hurt any sponsor and webmaster using a cookie to track traffic hugely. With the help of webmasters and sponsors, perhaps we can stop this before they even notice. Right now, there appears to be about 450 scumware programs out there. Many of them have already targeted the Adult Business. But, most of them are still stealing from only mainstream. We have a lot of work ahead of us, my friends. Let's get on this before it gets way out of hand.

Have a Great Day!
