I can't believe I'm still reading this thead.
The cheapest means of publicity is to create a drama.
There were probably no hackers in the first place... thebutcher probably hit the wrong button in his vBulletin admin. Seriously, if he has to ask his members how to resize jpegs of his Internext pics so they are small enough to post on his board... then you would assume that he is not computer literate, therefore making a mistake in a somewhat complex admin is not beyond feasibility.
