I've never saw any gain from submitting to blog directories. Tommy's Bookmarks listed my blog in his new blog section and is sending traffic but other than that one... nothing exciting.
I have been talking with a friend about trying to build my blog traffic back up. He suggested posting plugs to your link exchanges and it will help build up your link exchanges.
