He wasn't wrong in telling webmasters to pull their links to a dead site. I don't even know why he would have bothered apologizing to you. He was doing a favor to those who are actually aware of their sites and need to pull dead links before Big G fucks them. Simple as that. It was business, not some sort of secret vendetta. Get over it.

My biggest link list, at its best, got around 5-6k visitors per day. Now, on a good day, it won't see 200 - and it has THOUSANDS OF PAGES. So it goes.
