Today is the day we celebrate St George, patron saint of England. All patriotic Englishmen should be wearing a rose and flying the George Cross (the England flag). They should be celebrating, having parades, etc....
So are they?
The sad answer is "mostly no". The English do little to celebrate St George's Day, most don't even know that today is St George's Day.
However most celebrate St Patrick's Day, Ireland's day. Even during the Troubles, when Irishmen were killing Englishmen wholesale, we still celebrated their saint's day more than our own.
No Idea why this is. But anyway - today wear a rose and fly a flag, celebrate because it is England's Day!
