It's an either/or situation, I'm afraid. You can have more weekend by taking Monday or Friday off (or both) but that means less money. Or you can do what I do - work weekends which means more money but less weekend (or often "no weekend").

There was a guy on the radio talking about the fact that he worked out, when he was young, that he would not live beyond 75, so he organised a pension fund that spread out all payments between retirement and his seventy fifth birthday. That way he got a lot more money each week, but nothing after 75.

He has just had his 75th birthday and is in real good health, will probably make a hundred. And now he is really regretting his pension plan!
