Its great for any age of site. Free sites are a good way to get very targeted traffic to your TGP, or like I do, to my Link List. Plus, you get nice little SE spiders coming down and spidering your links which is great.
, and as has been pointed out, bookmarkers. Some of my top referrers to my LLs are free sites I've built, and now have SE traffic to them.
