List Your Useful Chrome Extensions Here

Now you know why I asked what browser everyone was using :D

Actually, I have to give credit for this idea to ArtWilliams. I've listed some on the bottom right of LOR's main page but it never dawned on me to share them with you good people|lol|

So let's do this:

1 extension/post where you give us the name of the extension, the link to get it & a brief description - maybe 1/day? We don't want to overwhelm each other lol

I'll go 1st in the next post...

Greenguy 2022-05-17 12:52 PM

I thought I'd go with an easy one 1st :D

Disable Ink Skipping

It gets rid of this:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/lf...j-sc0x00ffffff
You can also code your CSS to remove it as well:
Code:

text-decoration-skip-ink: none;

Image Downloader

Y'all probably know it, but it sure is handy on occasions.
The best part is that it can be set to download linked images only, so you don't get a folder filled with thumbs, and all sort of crap

ColorZilla

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...cnmhomnp?hl=en

Determine HEX and RGB colours anywhere on your screen. Point the eye dropper, it tells you the colour.

I'll take that one step further & tell you about Web Developer. Actually, it might be easier to read everything this thing does, but a few I use on the regular are the color picker, the browser resizing & Edit CSS.

But seriously, this things does A LOT OF USEFUL WEBMASTER THINGS |shake|

Grammarly.

This one is actually quite good and helps me a lot.
(I believe this extension has reduced the number of times my writing trigger |greenguy|'s OCD ... |lol||lol| )

Have an iPhone & a Windows PC/Desktop?

QPush will send texts & links to your phone. I find it's easier to type up a long text message here, send it to my phone through QPush, and copy/paste it into the text. And the ability to send links is great!

Unit Converter is what allows me to post things like "It's currently 69°F/21°Canadian"

It converts Length, Area, Speed, Weight, Volume & Temperature. I also use it for model bios since I list lb/kg & in/cm.

ArtWilliams 2022-05-20 08:34 AM

I'm next.

My reading comprehension is very bad due to my tinnitus. I lack the ability to think as deeply as I would like. Hearing my content being read back to me helps.

Read Aloud: A Text to Speech Voice Reader

I like that one.

This was the extension that gave Greenie the idea for this thread.

Save Image As Type

Right click any image and save it as JPG or PNG.

Greenguy 2022-05-21 10:18 AM

AddToAny let's you right click & share that page to Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Reddit & countless other places.

Workwise, I mostly use the Twitter function, but I assume it'd work on Reddit just as well.

Personally, I use the FB option all the time because if you just copy/paste the site into FB, the URL is in your post...and some people are morons. But if you share it, no confusing URL.

1 Attachment(s)
Explain & Send Screenshots let you do what you'd expect it to do, but you can also record a video of your screen, and it lets you do this:

(start scrolling down)

(resized from 108 wide)

Capture the entire page (it doesn't work on all sites)

Greenguy 2022-05-22 10:22 AM

BTW I have 28 extensions installed|lol| but I'm not gonna post all of them; just referring to other Chrome users who haven't posted any extensions yet...|couch|

I was picking & choosing, but I'll eventually fuck that up, so alphabetical order from here on out :D

Chrome Remote Desktop was VERY HANDY when I was in Florida. And, an idiot like me had ZERO trouble setting it up|lol| Best of all: It's FREE!

ArtWilliams 2022-05-23 09:49 AM

^ That's a good one.

Bit Warden

Saving your passwords using the browser function is not safe. Bit Warden allows you to encrypt your passwords and save them offline. Available for different browsers, devices and operating systems.

Emoji Keyboard by JoyPixels allows you to easily do stuff like this:

sarettah 2022-05-24 02:47 PM

I use:

screencastify - Screen capture and editing
clear cookie and reload - Great for when you hit your limit of stories before the paywall
adblocker plus - obvious usage
ENO from capital on which lets me create virtual cc card numbers on the fly so I never actually have to put a real cc number into the browser.

Have to check some of the others listed.

Good Thread!

F.B.(FluffBusting)Purity aka Facebook Buster lets you control what you want to see on Facebook...like NO ADS! |thumb

Page Analytics (by Google) does a lot of crap, but one thing is you can literally watch people move around the page your on.

Greenguy 2022-05-27 10:46 AM

3 handy Google Extensions for ya!

Save to Google Drive lets you right-click & save whatever to your Google Drive.

Search by Image (by Google) is 404|lol| but the extension does still work if you have it installed. I rarely used it until that shitty Google Lens thing was shoved down my throat.

Send from Gmail (by Google) forgive the copy/paste:
Makes Gmail your default email application and provides a button to compose a Gmail message to quickly share a link via email
This extension will open a Compose window in Gmail when you click any email address on a webpage. It also provides a button that will create a Gmail message when clicked, using the page title as the subject and selected page text and link address as the message.
