Suggestions For A New Admin For The Link O'Rama

I've been debating moving The Link O'Rama (http://www.link-o-rama.com/greenguy/mlinks.htm) to TGPX for a couple months now, but the thought of making 15,000 thumbs really |scared| me. But the more I use TGPX, especially now that I streamlined adding galleries via the TGPX Spreadsheet For Importing Galleries (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wwf66BgnQlmOe4Eejy0hbv7cEFfBKQYCeavZ01hKnds/edit?usp=sharing) I created, I really want to do it. But, if I'm gonna change scripts, I might as well do it right & there's a couple things I want that TGPX doesn't offer:

1 - Model Tags & Pages:

Grunting for |bow|Ramster in Elevated X (https://www.elevatedx.com/) has convinced me that I want to be able to tag a model in a gallery where the surfer can click her name & go to a page that has her bio & lists the other galleries I have that she's in. (Yes, I could probably do this in TGPX by adding the Models as categories, but that seems messy)

2 - Search Multiple Categories:

By this I mean I want the surfer to be able to see just the galleries that are listed in 2+ categories, like:
Petite + Teens
Amateurs + Redheads + Hairy
Busty + Milfs + Interracial + Anal

As well as mix the models with the categories, where they can see just:
Brandi Love + Interracial
Riley Reid + Anal + Lesbian

3 - Sub Categories:

LOR currently has 5 sub categories on each page:
Pay
Tube
Free
Blogs
Other

I'd like for each sub category to have different thumb sizes.

4 - Template Driven With Variables:

I do all this by hand, but basically every category page on LOR is based off this template (http://www.link-o-rama.com/greenguy/1template.htm), so I'd want the ability to easily define variables, where each category has different text for xKEYWORDUPPERx & xKEYWORDLOWERx and any other thing I come up with. Meaning I'd be able to set the Big Natural Boobs category to have:
xKEYWORDUPPERx = Big Natural Boobs
xKEYWORDLOWERx = big natural boobs
(these can't be the same & controlled by css because of Asian, Latina, etc. are always capitalized)

5 - The Basics Of TGPX:

Crop pics for thumbs (No need for the gallery scanner feature where it finds the images since I'm used to that not working on NATS URLs & doing it by hand)
Import from a spreadsheet
Schedule dates for adding & deleting
Accept submits (but I get so few I could do this by hand)
Auto-build Page 2, 3, 4, etc. once a category hits a limit
Title, Description, and # pics/vids for galleries

I basically want to combine TGPX with parts of ElevatedX :)

I did a couple of Google searches, but that was all paysite CMS's & adding TGP to the searches resulted in some weird mainstream stuff |huh

Does this admin/script exist? Any suggestions?

If TGPs were still making the money they were 10 years ago, there would be enough of a market for a developer to create and sell such a product, but there has been nothing new for TGPs since TGPX.

I've done the pornstar name as category thing, it works, but it creates other issues.
The gotcha with trying to do what you're wanting to do with TGPX is the fact that it does not create pages dynamically. The pages are all created when you do a daily rebuild, where the searches you want to do require pages built on the fly.

What you want is possible, but the cost is prohibitive in the current market.

I know Smart Thumbs won't do what you need it to do because I've been playing with it. It's major flaw is that you can't have daily galleries. It only works on a hall of fame basis.

There is also Mechbunny TGP Script. It's relatively. Not cheap (179 Euros but unlimited domains). I haven't looked at it in detail and don't know if it's regularly patched. It looks nice though.

Yes you should be able to get mechbunny customized to do everything you desire.
I've only tried the tube script myself, since I already had the license it was cheaper to pay for them to integrate a thumb cropper for me than to buy the tgp script xD

I'll be a double dick here. All your things are very easy to achieve. After my own ventures and redoing Tommys submit I can say that its all dooable and fairly easy. BUT like Toby said, it's not worth the time.
TGPX is dying natural death. PHP OUTDATED. MYSQL calls outdated and very unsecure.

If you're stuck with tgpx remember you can set up the page with thumbs on top and text links below as you slowly build up the thumbs.

Then you can decide to have all thumbs or whatever percentage you want.

I sent them a (long boring over-explaining) email yesterday to see if it's even possible, but based on what I know about ElevatedX, I think it is. After that, the cost would definitely be a factor.

I do thank you for the offer |smooch| but I want a lot of things that I don't think TGPX can do, like I want to be able to add a category on-the-fly & not have to fuss around with editing a template & adding it to the admin. That & the Search Multiple Categories thing I posted earlier are 2 of the biggies.

If you specify category in the pipe delimeted import string, you can set the import to add any unknown categories automatically.

The gotcha, a typo in the category name within the import adds a new category you don't really want.

I can only figure out how to show galleries that, for example, contain Petite OR Teen and I want to show galleries that contain Petite AND Teen.

I know it can be done, as AEBN's Gallery Builder (http://premiumgalleries.aebn.net/builder/?affiliateid=AEBN-006490&affId=6475) has a Filter Selection that states "OR will broaden results; AND will narrow results".

I've looked at the TGPX documentation for End User Gallery Search, the example shows a drop list to select ONE category. What I don't know is what would happen if you altered the form code to allow selection of multiples. Looking at the PHP code for search.php it appears that will work, but you'd have to create a test page to see for sure.

How? Using the Petite Teen thing again, I know you can set a page to load galleries like this:
category=Petite,Teen
But that gives you everything in Petite & everything in Teen. I want just the galleries that are tagged Petite AND Teen. Am I missing something?

AEBN's Gallery Builder isn't using TGPX, so that isn't applicable.
I was just pointing out that coding does exist where this can be done :)

You can specify tags when building pages, just like you do with categories. The End User Search does not have a field for users to select tags.

It could be custom coded, but it would take someone that fully understands the existing TGPX code structure.

ElevatedX hasn't gotten back to me |huh so I'm gonna take a serious look at the Mechbunny TGP Script (https://www.mechbunny.com/tgp-script). I know art suggested it & geirlur has used other scripts of theirs, but has anyone used this one? Just looking for feedback :)

Actually, those should not be hard queries to put together.

The bigger problem would be the presentation of the choices and getting from the user whether they want to match on all categories or any individual category.

Categories could be check boxes.

Model - maybe a dropdown. Let it be multiple select so that multiple models can be chosen.

Then under the categories check box a radio control of:

"is in all categories" or "is in any category"

Under the model select a radio of "includes all models" or "includes any model"

That would pretty much cover it, I think.
Not sure how hard it would be to add all that to the stuff you are using because I am not familiar enough with any of the scripts.

I have modified an elevated X install before, long time ago. I have never touched TGPX or Mech or Smart thumbs.

But, like I said, it shouldn't be too tremendous of an effort.

On the top left, pick a category from the Browse By Category dropdown menu.
Then on the top/middle of that category page, select another category from the Filter By dropdown menu.

They don't let you pick more than 2, but if your sneaky (like I am) you can do it (and link to it) by adding &categoryId=XXX where XXX is their category number:

The script itself is not a traditional tgp script. It's meant to host the galleries locally rather then link out to other ones.

I could use it, but that'd basically be TGPX with Models & one downside (aside from that multiple categories thing) is that you can't schedule future updates. Like I said, if I'm gonna move 15,000 links/galleries to a new admin, I'm gonna do it right :)

I honestly can't think of anything that LinkAdmin does that TGPX doesn't do, plus I want some of the things TGPX does that LinkAdmin doesn't do (thumbs, scheduling, internal tagging, etc.) so while it's not perfect, it's the 1 alternative I have right now.

GALLERY TYPES: paysite;tube;regular;friend;blog;whatever etc etc. Then the rest is easy. Whole structure will be about the same but different calls on category and search pages. Give me the "explain it to a child" synopsis of this, especially #2. Also, I don't think I stated it here yet, but I currently have 150+ categories & a lot of them cover multiple niches (For Amateurs, I have Amateur Nudes, Amateur Sex and Amateur Lesbians). I'd like to shorten the main list of categories to just the basics so that it's easier for me to tag the galleries.

New db column table ( model_name ) needs to be created and input added to user submit and every admin gallery add/edit page. Then you can change search.php script to point out only to search in this table. While searching for model_name you have your model page with results if any. Worth mentioning that you can add later any variables to any search results like model details at any page portion.

2.i need to do some testing on your tgpx install. We know tgpx is able to search in one category for now. But im very optimistic about searching in two cats or more.

3. You dont need subcategories. We will use gallery types for every category. Its easier and faster.

Then searching within the cats will be easier because on search page you can see 'search term' paysites galleries blogs etc separately.

I was looking again at the TGPX version I grabbed from github and it appears that some of it has been changed over to PDO at some point.

I hit the mysql issues during the install. When I scanned the entire code set I found 178 occurrences of mysql_ (The start of most mysql functions) so I figured it all was mysql but apparently I was mistaken.

That makes it a bit harder to mod out, in my opinion.

Edited in: Ok, I had that wrong. They have a MYSQL class that someone created. They wrapped the class aroound MYSQl. So, it looks like PDO but it isn't PDO it is still the mysql libs under neath.

Confused me when just glancing through trying to get an idea of the scope involved in modernizing it.
