View Full Version : NHL PLayoffs Internext Contest Finalized & Updated

As most of you know, at 6:30 PM EDT last night I finalized the entries & 1st round picks for our NHL Playoffs/Internext Contest (http://www.greenguysboard.com/pools/nhl-nba/nhl.html).
I did get about 4 more entires after the deadline, but the rules stated that I had to have all the entries by 6:30 so those entries were not let into the contest.
I have also updated the page to show the status of the series - meaning, looking at my "shits & giggles" picks, you'll see:
Tampa Bay
Boston (1-0)
New Jersey
Toronto
Detroit (1-0)
St Louis
Vancouver (1-0)
Colorado (1-0)
& will do so each monring after the games. This is to help those of you that don't follow hockey too much :)
For those of you that missed this contest, everyone is eligible to enter the NBA Playoffs (http://www.greenguysboard.com/pools/nhl-nba/nba.html) portion of the contest. The NBA Regular Season ends April 14th so I will have the match-up's online by the morning of the 15th & you will have until 1/2 hour before the start of the 1st game on the 17th to get your picks in.
I suggest you do not wait until the 17th to send in your selection :)
Looks nice, but I don't see myself in that table, although I submitted my picks ...

I sent it to your email addy, without all that in the end (?NHL...), since it bounced. Can I send it by ICQ?

The reason that the email link was set up with "NHL Internext Pool Selections" as the subject was so that all those emails were filtered into a different folder so that I could easily find them.
If you remove the subject, it goes into a different folder.
That being said, I did scan all my folders for picks at 6:30 on Wednesday night :)
As far as I know my email is working properly - I've been getting emails to the greenguy@greenguysboard.com email addy all week.
And as I've said numerous times before, the deadline for getting your picks in was Wednesday at 6:30 PM EDT - the NHL Pool is finalized & closed to new entires.

Don't be too depressed with your picks just yet - there's a lot of hockey left to be played :)

Yes lots of hockey left to play.
If nothing else happens I only hope Ottawa beats Toronto. Noone gives them a chance on the tv shows and I'm goddam tired of hearing about how Toronto has Ottawa's number. Where did Toronto finish last year in the playoffs? Fuckem!
DrBizzaro, we need Ottawa to win or else we're screwed. Fonz has the same picks as us with the exception being he took Toronto.

I'd love to see it Jim |bananna|
But unless Andrew Raycroft gets really hot I don't think they will quite make it this year...but they sure are giving us a good season aren't they :)
lol...I notice in the first round you and I have the same pics...here's hoping we both advance :)

Once a team wins 4 games, they win that series - everyone that has the most teams with 4 games won will go onto round 2 - when the next round starts is based on when the 1st round ends.

Friday April 16 - NHL INternext Page (http://www.greenguysboard.com/pools/nhl-nba/nhl.html) has been updated.
You'll notice a change on that page - since the San Jose/St Louis series ended last night, that means that some people have a correct pick & others do not. The order of the table will now be based on the number of correct picks :)
2 more games tonight - 6 games tomorrow - it's getting interesting :D

Well I've been mathematically out of this since the first series ended.
Linkster has all the other same picks as Adult Legal Jim and I, so after Linksters|raygun| Sharks destoyed my pick of St Louis, no matter what the best I could do is second best this round and so not advance
|banghead|
Still following it tho to see how my other picks go :)
Here's hoping I do a tad better with my NBA picks..lol

Yeah, ending the contest aftre the 1st round would suck.
Although, ending with me beating you in the 2nd round would kick ass. |roses|

2 questions....
1) Where is Hellgium?
2) Will $500 really cover a plane ticket from there to Miami? (This question is purely hypothetical, since we will only need to know that the $500 will cover one from Chicago or Ottawa.)

1) Hellgium -> Replace "H" with "B"
2) Probably not entirely but it will be a nice deduction to the actual price :)
(just checked and $500 would cover half of the normal price :D )

Tuesday April 20th - NHL Internext Page (http://www.greenguysboard.com/pools/nhl-nba/nhl.html) has been updated & just got really, really interesting!
For those of you that haven't been following it, 7 of the 8 series in Round 1 are finished, leaving just the Ottawa/Toronto series which will be completed tonight.
There's currently 9 people with 5 correct picks:
3xlinks - Ottawa
djhits - Toronto
DrBizzaro - Ottawa
Fonz - Toronto
Ramster - Ottawa
serious - Toronto
Torn - Ottawa
turf - Toronto
XPorn - Toronto
So, Round 2 will have either 4 or 5 people & the rest will be eagerly watching the
NBA Internext Pool (http://www.greenguysboard.com/pools/nhl-nba/nba.html) :D

Wow, I still cannot believe the Bruins lost that series. Up 3-1 too. And good for Calgary to win, they're an exciting team to watch. Jarome Iginla was simply awesome the past few games.
It boils down to Ottawa winning tonight. Ottawa has outplayed Toronto ALL series but it seems Toronto gets a lucky goal every damn game so hopefully tonight the team that plays the best wins the series. I will be somewhere cheering like a Mofo.
GO OTTAWA!!!!
