From: Christopher Mallick, Owner, ePassporte.com <http://ePassporte.com>

Dear ePassporte Account Holders,

Please be advised that, at 12:00 PM PDT today, September 2, 2010, we were notified that effective immediately, Visa International has suspended our banking partner’s (St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank) ePassporte Visa program. The ePassporte e-Wallet program continues to be up and running, except funds cannot be transferred between your Visa Account and your e-Wallet. At this time ePassporte can no longer issue Visa Cards, and the ability for our Account Holders to make point of sale purchases and withdraw funds from ATMs has also been suspended.

At this time we do not know why this drastic action was taken by Visa. To us, it is unconscionable that such action would be taken without the opportunity for ePassporte to fully understand Visa’s reasons and to be able to take all steps necessary to keep our program running the way it has so successfully done for over 7 years. But that is what Visa has done.

As soon as we have more information we will be in contact with you.

In the meantime please be assured that your funds are safe.

We are very sorry for the short notice and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The ePassporte team is working diligently to rectify this situation.

We kindly ask you to bear with us while we work through this issue.

Please feel free to contact us via the message center or at our call center, should you have any questions, comments or concerns.

Thank You,

Christopher Mallick

Mine are in the Visa Virtual Account which it seems is now frozen.

On the plus side I only leave enough funds in there to pay for a few months worth of partner accounts.

I just changed my settings so that any new funds will go into my eWallet.

Guess it's time to go change my payment method at all my sponsors...

The cards are suspended but if the money is on the Wallet they are not on the card and can be moved.

Its not possible to use the virtual or Electron card at this time.

holy shit this is fucking hilarious.

it's just one blow after another this year.

I got everything in my fucking virtual visa account holy shit that's funny.

this is unlikely to be resolved quickly, I'm thinking.

I gotta change my settings so anything else deposited goes to the wallet where at least there's a chance of using it.

Well, I really hope this gets fixed up soon. It's been great not having to pay exorbitant check fees... but perhaps it's all over now.

We've made a point of not letting money pile up in our epassporte account. Still, I don't want to lose the funds that are in there.

Reading through all the boards and that hideous excuse for a board over at the Zoo this all seems to be linked back to the failure of this bank (http://www.fptci.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1739:tci-bank-creditors-shareholders-to-vote-on-rescue-plan&catid=18:local&Itemid=26).

Just to add frustration to this mess last night I tried to change my payment type to check at one of my sponsors that was getting ready to pay me but the verification email that is sent out to accept changes doesn't work so this morning I woke to find that I had received a payment to my ePassporte account this morning. At least I did log into ePassporte last night and changed the setting to place all new transfers to go into my eWallet so this payment now sits in my eWallet instead of my Visa Virtual account.

Good idea. I set mine that way some months ago and I'd suggest anyone who doesn't have their account set that way should log into ePassporte asap and make that change.

For those who haven't read the 15+ page Zoo thread, if a sponsor sends you a commission payment it will be received into your Wallet if that's how you have your account set to receive money. If you have your account set to receive funds directly into your Visa/Virtual Visa account then the amount sent to you will be refused and returned to the sponsor.

Michael has posted over there that he's asked the ePassporte techs to switch all accounts to receiving all funds into their Wallet instead of the Visa part of the account so payments can be received. I don't know if that's been done already, so you may want to do it yourself on your account. Or you may decide you'd rather have the sponsors get the payments returned to them so you can have them pay you another way.

Ouch, I have money going through ePass just so I don't get the double currency exchange hit converting from US$ to CDN$ to US$. |cry|

Most of my expenses are in US$ and of course the banks never lose on exchange, so it works out to about a 4-5% double hit each time. |angry|

Plus, CDN credit cards like throwing in "foreign transaction" fees on top when I do US$ purchases. |crazy|

I've got two sponsors that epassporte is my only option, as I don't make enough to justify the $30 wire fees.

I switched my account so new funds go in my Wallet. Once they get there, I can withdraw to my bank account? I've never used the Wallet option before.

From the above thread ... "The reason for this move from Visa is most likely because of the new rules enforced by Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).

New rules has come in place regarding debit pre paid cards, gift cards and reloadable top up cards. The rules, which were mandated by the Credit CARD Act of 2009, require more data collection and reporting from businesses, and some experts say they could make prepaid card buying a challenge for some consumers.

Starting June 28, the public will have 30 days to comment on the rules, which require nonbank prepaid card providers to:

Quote:
File suspicious activity reports (SARs) with the government on suspicious activity of more than $2,000. Suspicious Activities Reports are Treasury Department forms already required of banks, casinos, poker rooms, securities and futures firms and others in the money services business. More than 5.6 million have been filed since they were first mandated in 1996 (see chart). The proposed rule would add nonbank card providers to the ranks of those required to file forms with the government when their suspicions are aroused.
Collect customer information anytime a card is reloaded at someplace other than a bank.
Maintain transaction information.
The rule focuses on the following:

Quote:
Don't have the value clearly labeled on them.
Are reloadable at places other than banks.
Can have a maximum lifetime value of more than $1,000, including reloads.
Can be used anywhere -- especially if they can be used internationally.
Can have the value transferred to another card.
Are purchased in large amounts or seem otherwise suspicious.
Basically this is another terrorists anti-money laundry mumbo jumbo, but for now Epassporte is going to stay closed unless they will be able to comply with the new regulatations that came into force just a bit more than 30 days ago."

If it is true then it paints a very dark shadow on this type of business since complying with the regulations is onerous to say the least.

I hear ya! Timing couldn't be worse neither as many sponsors pay on the 1st and 16th. Boy do I wish I went to the machine yesterday and took out some cash.

What I do not understand is that if you can still send and receive money thru their wallet account why am I receiving all these emails from sponsors saying to choose another method of payment.

Do sponsors "have" to pay affiliates thru their visa account?

Or are they just afraid of having their money frozen, even if it's in wallet, like what happened at webmaster checks?

(I think I might of answered my own question when typing the last one out, lol)

Yes you did.

But I don't see ePassporte going away, the industry needs them and a core group of affiliates have no other choice for a payment option.

Money in the Wallet is safe, the reason that the money on the virtual card can not be moved is that Visa suspended the cards and then its not possible to move money to/from the cards, we are working with Visa to get this issue solved and hopefully this will be solved soon.

This has been posted in our inbox.

September 16, 2010

Over the past few days there have been numerous blogs and posts calling into question the reputation of Mr. Gregory Elias, United International Trust and United International Bank.

We are issuing this press release to clarify Mr. Elias' position as well as the position of United International Trust and United International Bank in regards to ePassporte.

ePassporte has utilized the services of United International Trust since 2006. United International Trust serves only to manage the corporate governance of ePassporte and has no input, or control as regards its daily management.

In 2009 United International Bank was formed to provide commercial and corporate banking services and subsequently ePassporte has moved some of its operating accounts to this bank.

United International Bank does not hold funds for ePassporte holders. United International Bank merely pays the vendors for ePassporte.

Neither Mr. Elias, United Trust nor United International Bank have any control over these funds.

All requests and inquiries should be forwarded to ePassporte at the Message Center, which you may log on to at www.epassporte.com if you are an active cardholder.

We apologize to Mr. Elias, United Trust and United Bank for any confusion that may have arisen these last weeks as a result of difficulties we at ePassporte, with St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank, are responsible to manage.

Christopher Mallick, for ePassporte

September 16, 2010

ePassporte N.V. has had several extensive meetings with St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank (the "Bank") in an effort to resume operations and card functionality.

We are encouraged and believe these meetings and ongoing discussions with the Bank will result in all card functions becoming operational shortly, although a date has not yet been determined.

ePassporte and St Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank want to assure cardholders that their funds are safe and that resuming operations is a key and attainable goal.

A few very import points:

For information regarding your Account, it is imperative that you contact us via the Message Center or call our Account Holder Services line (310.301.2001).

PLEASE DO NOT contact ePassporte N.V. in Curacao, Mr. Elias, United Bank or St. Kitts Bank. Messages sent to the above may not be answered. All operational issues are handled by the ePassporte team via the Message Center or Call Center ONLY. Please also avoid posting your username on forums as this could pose a security risk to your Account.

We greatly appreciate your continued patience and understanding and will continue to update you regarding this situation via the Message Center.

Sincerely,

ePassporte.com

ePassporte Message from Chris Mallick

We at ePassporte are as distressed as you, our valued cardholders, over an action that we did not see coming and as of today we still have received no good basis for it.

First, be assured that your funds are fully safe and protected. You are owed that and it will be fulfilled. The funds are secure.

Second, ePassporte is working with the St. Kitts bank to work out how all payments will be made and when. The details are complicated, because there are funds in motion and where and when they settle requires us to all be careful that we fully and properly account for all those funds and their rightful owner. This issue stems from our processing and reporting ability through the Visa system and their processor.

Third, ePassporte's most important asset has always been our account holder's. We are not going to undermine that asset by treating cardholders in any manner other than the best we can.

Most of us have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with banks and card associations that simply "cut us off" and did not pay us. Those actions were limited to card acquiring (merchant accounts), not card issuing, which is what we do. We can all take some comfort in the fact that this situation is not anything like the acquiring side of the business.

We all fully understand that communication to our cardholders is critical. However, it does not help any of us if we are constantly updating you on the basis of the calls that take place almost hourly. It seems to us that giving you facts, based on agreements we are working on is the best form of communication. This is what we will be doing. When we know something, that is a fact, we will report it, quickly. Our staff is all working diligently to resolve these issues and the many moving and complicated parts of getting the funds returned. Therefore, please do not mistake our silence as "hiding", "avoiding" or "stringing you along". We too have funds that are stuck in the system, as well as massive costs of operation without any income.

Rest assured that when we know, you will know and you will all be satisfied with the results. Again, your money is safe.

For those of you that have been in the industry for many years, I hope you will recall that I have a very strong track record of fighting for the rights of webmasters, program sponsors, billing companies, merchants and the industry; that dedication continues.

Thanks you for your understanding in this difficult time and for your support over the last 8 years of our operations.

Chris Mallick

imo the only thing that can save our money is to stay put and trust that our money is safe and were gonna get it, if all the sponsors run and never go back and us webmasters do the same, then there done IMO & we may never get anything or maybe half of the card holders will get there's

I think chris lost a ton on the movie thing, and had to use our money to get him out of trouble, now he is prolly been rounding up some investors to invest in epass to give our money back...

and/or he is prolly working out the details to pay back a mega loan to get epass back in action, and when your talking that much money it takes days and days of meetings

if he can pull it off and I can go get my cash out I will leave 20.00 in my account to show that I am still a customer, if you dont trust him with that then dont close your account

all of us should show that if he pays out, the adult net biz will still use there service, cause we mostly all love epass, and it makes our life a little less of a hassle...

As an affiliate payment option they are dead , granted the Visa side isn't even needed to make affiliate payments to the wallet and you can safely transfer form the wallet to your bank , credit card. However finance is all about faith and it seems that ePassporte have used/lost that. Several affiliate programs are opting out and no longer offer ePassporte as an option.

Payoneer is already stepping into the gap and I will be looking at that option. if the problem with ePassporte were fixable it would be fixed by now.

Payoneer is already stepping into the gap and I will be looking at that option. if the problem with ePassporte were fixable it would be fixed by now.
I looked into Payoneer when it looked like my current processor was about to disappear. Two things struck me, and scared me away:

1) If you want to use their service to pay affiliates they don't have a published fee schedule, instead you have to contact them with your details and a rep will talk to you. Or in other words, they work out the maximum they can screw you for on a case by case basis. Not very encouraging.

2) If you are the person receiving funds, and you want to find out how much it will cost you in advance of signing up, you cannot. Their FAQ states:
What are the costs associated with the card?
Costs are listed and explained when you sign into "My Account"
Or in other words: Their fees for the person receiving funds are so damned high that they dare not tell you the fees until AFTER you have signed up!

All I can say from that is "Come back ePassporte, all is forgiven"!

Several affiliate programs are opting out and no longer offer ePassporte as an option.
Lesson one in how to make a bad situation worse for yourself!

If ePassporte do come back, affiliates who signed up for those programmes to use ePassporte will simply drop them and go elsewhere. And with an increasing number of WMs using ePassporte there will be a less new WMs signing up for their program.

And even if ePassporte is a dead duck, a lot of WMs are expecting them to come back, so will leave those sponsors anyway.

So expect those sponsors who drop ePassporte to appear in the "Cemetery of Sponsors" thread in the near future!

The threads at the zoo seem to indicate that you would have to have a different card for each sponsor, meaning more fees, smaller balances per card.

I don't think they have the P2P transfers either.

payoneer.com is not a very good option, paypal would be better. I'm not sure why affiliates don't use paypal, i mean they can't use paypal to cell subscriptions but paying to your affiliates is not a problem, there are few programs that do it already

since the epass-visa issue is not solved yet it probably won't, maybe they should go for a new deal instead - mastercard?
however a lot of sponsors are dropping the epass as an option which i think this is not very good, I still prefer epass as payment option as i can transfer the money from my wallet to my own debit card. A lot of european webmasters may feel the same.
The other payment options are not very good when based in europe - checks take ages to cash into your account and you have to pay 10 euro/pounds(imagine what's left from 50$) and you can't even cash in a check if the amount is less than 100$ (50$ is 30 pounds or 35 euro which is way below the minimum).
The wire is also not a good option as it costs around 20-50$ and the minimum amount is very high(500$ for some sponsors)

Seriously though, PayPal don't like it, even just to pay affiliates, so you have to keep real quiet about it and hope word of mouth gets round.

Epassporte is asking for verification, wanting copies of my driver's licence and other stuff before I can use the service again.

I'm wondering, should I bother? There's something disconcerting about sending off a scanned copy of my ID, especially when the whole thing is up in the air.

Did anyone else get this request? What do you think I should do? Verify and then wait? Or just wait, cross my fingers that it will be fixed and THEN verify?

Perhaps my question to Epassporte is: does getting your Visa status back require webmasters to show they're not money launderers?

My problem with it is that they are demanding things that I do not have, so I cannot oblige.

It is due to a little matter of him not having done anything illegal. True, he is an asshole (if my experience is anything to go by) - but being an asshole is not yet a crime, and if it were, most of the jails would be full by now!

I understand you can't get your money. WHAT THE FUCK ELSE AM I SUPPOSE TO UNDERSTAND? Who the fuck are you and why are you trying to make excuse for epassporte keeping people's money?

I Know one person personally you owe four grand to. When are you going to pay him?

Q.E.D.

Q.E.D. actually means "Thus I have proved what I set out to prove" (although the more pedantic will point out that it is not supposed to be used in situations like this).

The point I was making is: - It is not ePassporte who are keeping other people's money. Always read a thread fully before replying to it, because people will assume that you know the facts and are saying what you believe based on what is actually happening. And your comments are of the same school as that Middle Eastern country (forget which) that hit the headlines last year when a woman was raped, the courts agreed with her version of the events, but still jailed her for having sex out of wedlock.

Once again, since your beliefs are so strong, will you put your money where your mouth is and give me the four grand my friend is owed cause of course epass will surely back you up being the legitimate business people they are?

This is really all that matters.

Jesus, read the fucking thread through before you comment. Your heart is in the right place, but your comments are making you look really, really stupid.

For a start, as I said - EPASSPORTE ARE NOT THE PEOPLE STOPPING PAYMENTS.

Secondly, even though you have not read the posts you are commenting on, I cannot see how anyone can assume that ePassporte would take this action themselves, it is crippling their own business, and whatever the outcome they are going to loose millions over it.

Thirdly, your comments about Madoff are insane, there is no similarity. You might just as well compare ePassporte with the Catholic Church for all the sense there is in comparing them with Madoff (but I think you have made it possible for them to recoup some of their losses by suing you for liable - well done).

And incidentally, I have no love for the guy who runs ePassporte, as I said, he is an asshole. I would also be happy to pay good money to spend five minutes kicking shit out of him, but over other things, not this (which is hurting me badly, but at least I have the sense to read the facts before commenting on the situation).

Actually I would throw epass in with the Catholic Church no problem, especially after make their MOVIE. I want money, bottom line. I give no shit about their personal problems or yours.

Excuses for people not being paid are only as pathetic as those people backing them up (LIKE YOURSELF).

How can a middle man walk the streets without giving the money that's owed to the people he's dealing with. I've done time in prison and etc.a nd dealt with the crips and bloods and the east coast mobs. I can't imagine such a thing.

It has gone 1:30 AM here, and I am about to go to bed. I'll make one last attempt to get you to actually think:

If you are walking down the road and some idiot in a car spins out of control, runs into you, and throws you clean through a shop window. You think the driver should get off scott free, but you should go to jail for vandalism, because you smashed the shop window when the car threw you through it???

Your last post can be summarised as "I don't care who is guilty, and I am happy to let the real guilty person get off free, provided I am allowed to blame one of the victims and torture them".

I really hope you are making the mistake of posting while drunk or stoned, because I'd hate to have to believe that any human being would think as you think, when sober.

After I logged into my account the other day, I got a message, so logged back in to see my account was on hold and I have to send them copies of my ID etc.

I'm bamboozled by this, is this some attempt to hold the funds of epassporte account holders? I don't have much in my account wallet and even less on my visa card, but why do I have to send them copies of my ID? I'm not even sure I trust sending them that data, I'll probably let them keep the measly $100 there is in the wallet.

Not a lot of point doing that. Either you are going to look at this sober and realise what you were saying yesterday, or you are going to still be saying the same stuff sober. If the former, then we probably more or less agree, if the latter, then arguing with you will be a waste of time.

Sorry, just realised that the last sentence on my previous post sounded insulting, it was not meant that way.

No offense taken.

Being half sober now (with hangover), I still don't think epass is one of the victims. Maybe they are and that's why there are no legal actions against them. I do admit that I always found them to be pretty incompetent and thus always paid the 3 bucks to have even my minimum payments withdrawn from them immediately. I had so many problems with them in the past just simply withdrawing to my own US bank account that something major (even if it hadn't been this) seemed almost inevitable to me.

I don't even see how he can start back up without paying back that money whether it's his fault or not, or having it unfrozen if that is the actual case.

I love they way they always tell you, your money is safe. Great! But it's not in my hands. Why don't you let me have it so I can keep it safe myself LOL. Again not me personally. I don't think I even lost a dollar like I said, but I certainly won't use them to receive payments ever again. They are complete screw ups in my eyes.

if they back and work again I will use them again,

because this the best way for me to get small payment's from eg. 10 sponsor's - from $35 to $100 and then immediately take cash at ATM

cashing check in europe for such low amount is problem - cost more money and more time

Well that is a given. Assuming this gets sorted out, eP will be dead in the water if their clients loose money.
I love they way they always tell you, your money is safe. Great! But it's not in my hands. Why don't you let me have it so I can keep it safe myself LOL.
Because there is no legal way he can do this. It would require monumental financial misdealing at eP's end, and if they even tried they are looking at 20+ years in prison. And worse, any US bank account that they do manage to get money into is going to get frozen by the government while they look into it, which will probably take years! You really want to be unable to withdraw any money from your own bank account for the next few years?
I do admit that I always found them to be pretty incompetent They are complete screw ups in my eyes.
Another given, but this time, there lack of a brain (or heart) is not the cause of the problem.

The problem is US federal banking law, which is a mess to put it mildly. There are corrupt African states run by incompetent military juntas who have better banking systems that the US. An when things go tits up, it takes them ages to sort things out.

It is costing the US a fortune, because no one likes to do business with American companies, not because they don't like the companies, but because it is such a pain to exchange money for services/goods. Part of the reason your economy has still not fully recovered from the crash is down to this.

As an example, the only US companies I currently use are sponsors (because there are very few non US ones), eBay/PayPal (because they have an European division which is separate from the American division, so I do not have to deal with US laws), and ePassporte (which has just confirmed my "never use US companies" rule). For things like hosting, payment processing, affiliate account management, distribution, advertising, etc - for which there are plenty of good US companies I can use - I always use European companies because of the shit problems of dealing with US banking laws.

This is also why ePassporte got so big so quickly. No country likes dealing with US banks, simply because the law on your side of the planet is so unfit for purpose that it makes life difficult for everyone. And when a non US bank does deal with a US bank they charge their clients high. For example to cash a non British cheque from any country other than the US costs me up to about the equivalent of a dollar and a half. To cash a US cheque costs me nearly the equivalent of 20 dollars, over ten times as much! And baring in mind that some sponsors send me a cheque when the amount goes over $50, that means I have to give nearly half my money to the bank (one sponsor even sends out cheques for $35). So going via ePassporte and using ATM to withdraw is the only sensible way to go if you do not live in the US. Since the US now only accounts for less than a third of English Language business on the 'net, any sponsor who does not offer ePassporte is throwing away two thirds of their business, no sane company would do that! So, assuming this matter does get cleared up, eP is here to stay, at least until someone starts a viable alternative.

You think any of these companies being temporarily offered have a shot? Like payoneer or Web Money etc?

Does security have anything to do with US Banking problems? I mean I like the idea my money is insured for up to a quarter million or do all countries do that (or at least in Europe)?

I am certain the the ePassporte VISA was suspended due to their inability to satisfy American anti-money laundering laws. Can these other companies satisfy those requirements? It is highly unlikely.

Originally the problem was simply the American government's fear of foreigners, they put up all sorts of barriers to foreign money to stop non-American companies getting a toe-hold in US trade. Unfortunately no one realised that it worked both ways, and you were keeping foreign money out, screwing up the US balance of payments.

I have also been told (by a bank manager) that the US banking system itself is very backward compared with most European countries, so that the problems are compounded by the fact that American banks simply do not have as high a level of technology as Europe.

I would guess that the current security fears have made things even worse, and the eP problems may (as artwilliams assumes) be wholly or partly triggered by this. But all countries have the same problem, so the US government has no excuse for being worse than elsewhere.

It is also possible that the crash scared more useless regulations into being (but...ditto).

However the shit state of US banking laws is not a new thing, it predates the twin towers attack, I have been having problems for about 20 years, and when I started working internationally it was already very much an old story.

Worryingly, since so many major banking transactions are beginning to rely on Broadband, and America lags far behind Europe in broadband availability, things are probably going to get worse.

In short, George W. had already mortgaged the US's ass to Asia before the crash, now things are even worse. And if the banking system does not pull itself out of the past and get with the program, America will never be able to get enough money in to pay off it's foreign debts. The result will be galloping inflation, low wages, and mass unemployment. So if Mr Ob does not do something pretty drastic pretty quick, the Mexican border will soon be patrolled by Mexican soldiers, desperately trying to stop US citizens sneaking into Mexico looking for work!

I'm sort of curious why the US banking is such a problem unless they are also that valuable? Can't we just be ignored and outcasted or are our finances that valuable?

Personally I think our entire country is a whorehouse that everyone wants to invade and rape and give nothing back to

P.S. I also feel this way about the successful famous people here who actually owe this country something due to their success. They seem to be more concerned with PR and doing things for banana republics than helping out and fixing our own problems here.

If you mean to other countries: Because we do business with some US companies, and they usually have American bank accounts!

If you mean to the US: Because you buy foreign goods, go on foreign holidays, and send money abroad through other means (eg, American soldiers fighting abroad). You have to have as much money coming in as going out (preferably more coming in than going out) or you end up in serious financial shit, the Government has to "create" more money which leads to inflation, unemployment, etc.... You also need money coming in to pay off that huge national debt the idiot W. ran up while in office. Fail to do that, and America ends up like a bankrupt third world country!

Oh, US banking is very important indeed.

You suffer from the same problem as me, you are still living in the 1970's. Back then America was a great nation, but now it is Asia that is propping the USA up, not the other way round. At the moment your country owes countries like China so much money that if China says "jump" the USA has to ask "How high sir?" and then damn well jump. Fortunately China and India also make a lot of money from exporting to the US, so they don't want to rock the boat. But if the President goes all protectionist and starts bringing in trade levies or some such thing (which must look inviting in the current economical climate), or if he stops that aid you keep moaning about, then countries like China can retaliate by demanding that the loans get repaid, then it will be the 1930s all over again. (I don't think this will happen while Mr Ob is in power, but if he looses the next election and you get someone like Palin in, there is a serious risk she will get patriotic and protectionist, if that looks like happening, emigrate to Canada or Europe before it is too late!)

However the most imminent worry is over America's credit rating. At the moment it is good, but if it drops, you owe more money that Greece does, so the same thing will happen in America as is happening there, prices are going up, and salaries are going down. Serious poverty for most people, however not as bad as the above scenario (but there is a greater chance of it happening, even with a good President).

I answered that question a couple of posts back!!!!!!!

As I said the other day, read the whole thread before replying to it. If you just look at one post and reply without reading the rest of the thread you are bound to either ask what has already been answered, repeat what has already been said, or say something stupid. It is inconsiderate to all other users to simply use this forum to air your views without first reading those of others. Sure, some people will have widely different views to other people (such as you and I over ePassport's culpability), and everyone has the right to state their own views. But at least have the good manners and common decency to read other people's posts in the thread before adding your own.

True, but irrelevant. When you ask a question and get an answer, there is no point in asking the same fucking question over and over again, even if you think the answer is wrong. Instead read the answer. If you don't agree with the answer, post to disagree with it if you like, BUT DON'T KEEP ASKING THE SAME QUESTION, that is just childish.

Just a FYI. I came across this on another forum while searching up to date information on the current epass mess from the latest links on google.

link (http://www.gaydemon.biz/showthread.php?t=15053&page=26)

I just spoke to "St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank". This is what I got:

Bjorn: What seems to be the problem?
Nevis: We are working on it.

Bjorn: What seems to be the problem? (again)
Nevis: Your funds are safe.

Bjorn: Why are you avoiding the question?
Nevis: I'm not.

Bjorn: So what is the actual problem that you're working on?
Nevis: We're working on it.

Bjorn: Why can't I access my funds?
Nevis: We're working on it.

Bjorn: Where are the funds?
Nevis: We are not obliged to tell you that.

Bjorn: How can I get hold of my money?
Nevis: You can't but your funds are safe.

Nevis: We'll make statement and give more information on the 30th of Sept.
...

By this time I was furious and hanged up. Fucking Scammers.

By the way, anyone who is interested in taking legal action (when orif needed), please contact me by email or PM to register your interest. (after the press release on the 30th Sept). I've already heard from some who are interested.

Now I don't know what truth there is in the above but it does make sense that the bank will need a few days to issue a statement so I think we may have to wait until the 30th to find out what's going to happen.

In the meantime it's a waiting game and I am watching the latest links on google for any other new information regarding this.

I just logged in & sure enough, my account is about $100 lighter :( I had $100 (or so) in there when this all happened. Since then, one sponsor did pay me about $50 - this money is still in there, which is actually a bright light, assuming that I can transfer that $50 over to my normal bank's checking account (which I do have set up in ePass)

I'm not real happy about the $100 I have to now hunt down, but if I can have money sent to ePass by sponsors that can't figure out how to cut checks & then transfer that money to my bank account, that'd still be worth it for me.

I get the feeling the conversation went something like:

9/2 Chris Mallick, Epassporte: Hey, you had some wind yesterday. We can't access our accounts, we have a lot of people wondering, will the accounts be turned back on?
9/2 SKNANB, Yes, we had a hurricane yesterday or we would have shut you off on 9/1. Maybe.

9/10, CM, Epassporte: Are we going to get the money back?
9/10 SKNANB: Maybe. Check back next week.

9/17, CM, Epassporte: Any word on the money?
9/17, SKNANB: Maybe. Check back next week.

9/23, CM, Epassporte: Any word on the money?
9/23, SKNANB: You aren't getting it.
9/23, CM, Epassporte: Ok, hey, did you see my movie?
9/23, SKNANB: I must have missed it, how long was it in the theaters?

I must admit I am feeling a bit optimistic after reading that message from St. Kitts. I do have a substantial amount locked in the VV side of epassporte and do hope things get sorted soon.

Porn Income is almost non-existent these days since so many sponsors have flown the coop, closed down without notice, not to mention the ones that still exist that use many tricks to siphon your money and shave you smooth like a babies bottom! (Over the years, this money does add up substantially and you feel like you are being kicked over and over)

Its been a good run for the last 14 years but I dont foresee it lasting too much longer for alot of us in the Free Site and Linklist business. I wish I have adapted and changed with the times - instead I just sat there with the same business model as I started out with 14 years ago :(

It is never too late to change. Look at all of us doing blogs / twitter / youtube / facebook etc that we never would have done a year ago.

And don't write off the old ways either. Just by upping my submissions this month and doing free sites along with TGP galleries, I'm already ahead of my best month last year, and still have days to go to the end of the month. Even the old ways are helping my bottom line. |thumb

I tried to withdraw the remaining funds in my ePassporte *Wallet* this morning when I saw the latest message from SKNANB (posted earlier in this thread), but the ACH transfer to bank account was showing an error message and wouldn't complete.

Good news is I just tried again and it went through, or at least the ePassporte website shows that it did and now my balance is reduced by the amount I transferred.

My advice to anyone with money still in the Wallet (not on the Visa part of the account) is that you may want to withdraw all that you can as soon as you can in case things go completely tits-up in the next few days. I know it's not easy for those not in the USA to withdraw their funds, but if you're in the USA and can do an ACH transfer to your bank account this may be time to jump on this.

The whole problem has to be that these prepaid VISA cards which can be loaded with literally hundreds of thousands of dollars from any bank account in the world breaks every money laundering rule in VISA's book.

My guess is that VISA is bowing to pressure from the U.S. Treasury and DOJ. There are other companies trying to step in and offer the same service but they too will suffer the same fate.

I guess is that people may actually see their virtual VISA money but it may take months or years as every account is checked in detail to see whether it has ties to organized crime or the worse terrorism.

I have no proof to offer but I this is my gut feel.

It will probably surprise you to learn that I actually like America and Americans, and I genuinely hope I am wrong. However the reason I am probably correct is that too many Americans have this "America is great, nothing can go wrong attitude" so don't take the steps needed to make me wrong.

For example, in his first term of office George W. started to fuck up the economy. Regardless of any other issues (including party loyalties) anyone who cared about America should have voted against him to save the country. However he spent the money on things that made him popular, and despite American economists screaming that this was a bad thing, most Americans stuck with their belief that America is indestructible, and voted him in for a second term. He fucked the economy some more, then the crash happened. The crash was not really his fault, but he had so "knife edged" the economy that it made it hard to pull America back from the brink. The fact that the crash hit America so badly is George W.'s fault, the fact that America has still not recovered from it is George W.'s fault, and the fact that you are tottering on the brink of a second dip is George W.'s fault. And it is the fault of the majority of Americans who refused to listen to the warnings from his first term of office because they thought America was indestructible, and voted him in a second time.

And there is another big disaster looming - the mid terms. If most Americans vote with their hearts instead of their brains the impending "falling of the sky" I was talking about will become even more probable. Unfortunately, to save the country, the majority of voting Americans need to realise that America is not indestructible, and vote for what America needs, not for what they want. However most Americans have the same views as you "America is great, we don't have to worry", and that will push the country into disaster and decline.

Remember what happened to the Roman empire, or more recently to the British empire. Both of those died because the Romans and British thought about their countries the same way you (and so many others) now think about America, and unless a hell of a lot of people have a rethink, America is going the same way as the Roman empire.

And that is why I so often post things like those in my previous post. Hopefully some people will think about what I say, and convince others, and will save your country. I doubt it though. Most people are probably thinking "What the fuck has it got to do with that Brit. America is great, and we don't need no Limey telling us otherwise." Ironic isn't it? What will probably do for the USA in the end is patriotism. People need to learn that being patriotic does not just mean loving your country, it also means doing what is best for your country, even if it hurts you. Sitting back with a self satisfied "America is great" attitude and letting America go to hell in a handcart makes you about as patriotic as an Iraqi urinating on the Stars and Stripes.

Remember that famous quote "Think not what your country can do for you, think only what you can do for your country."

Nobody loves America (or Americans) except people that need something and people with a gun to their head. As far as the demise of America goes, you better pray with everything you have that doesn't happen cause we are going to be taking a lot of places with us. If this past decade has taught you nothing else at all, it should have at least given you a sense of that.

As far as something being "great", I'll leave that for all you self righteous fucks to judge. I'm fine with being bigger, badder and dirtier than most everyone else.

LOL, plus we change the rules in the middle of the game whenever it suits us, so if one of these countries started getting stupid and pushing the whole credit issue, we could just consider them a criminal organization, freeze all their assets and have another war (hopefully one of those ones where we just bomb them night and day and none of our troops get killed).

This just came in

Dear Account Holder:

It is with great regret we inform you that ePassporte must close its doors due to a lack of revenue and circumstances beyond our control.

Effective immediately, the call center, ePassporte's sales and marketing team and risk management staff will no longer be available.A small group will remain to organize wallet requests and help disburse funds. On the ePassporte website, in the near future, wallet holders will be provided further information on what is needed to obtain your funds. This will mainly be a process to protect wallet holder funds from fraud. We expect this will be a simplified process, and as we receive the necessary information, our small remaining staff will process requests as quickly as they can. Please direct your wallet questions, concerns and requests to walletrequest@ePassporte.com.

For those of you with funds on your Visa Accounts, we are informed that St. Kitts Bank is working on a plan to provide everyone with full access to their funds through their Visa Electron Cards or by bank wire transfers and will inform you accordingly.

We appreciate your support for the ePassporte program over the past 7 years and deeply regret we must close our doors at this difficult time.

Sincerely,

ePassporte.com

I'm wondering if it might be better to spread it out a little so when something this major happens to someone next time, it doesn't seem so much like the end of the world.

Glad I got my money out. I had about a G sitting there from one sponsor I actively promoted and got paid epassport. I just had the wallet account. Glad I never got the visa side one. I had been thinking about it as of late too because of the money that was building up. Yah procrastination. lol.

Im thankful I didnt rely on them heavily. They were sometimes convenient but I do feel for those that put all their funds in epass. Hope the $ comes to them without too much effort.

YOU!? I lost 84 cents! I'm FUCKING FURIOUS.

Seriously I saw this shit coming way back when I was having problems transferring simple amounts to my bank account and everyone on GFY was sucking MICHEAL's cock and telling me to shut up and suck it up!

This is so overdue it's not even sort of funny.

I spent 3 bucks every time just to transfer every single min transaction from every sponsor who actually pays whenever I could do it just to keep this shit from happening to me.

I'm not gloating, but I have to say I told EVERYONE SO! |bananna|

looks not bad :

As previously advised, SKNANB has been working diligently to restore prepaid cardholders' ability to access their Visa card funds.

Thursday, October 7th, 2010 is the confirmed date that the majority of cardholders will be able to access the funds on their Visa Card using their existing virtual card and/or physical card(s), without providing SKNANB further information.

so maybe tommorow we will get our money and nobody loss - besides epassporte ;)

after i login i see

IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING YOUR EPASSPORTE ACCOUNT

It is with great regret we inform you that ePassporte must close its doors due to a lack of revenue and circumstances beyond our control.

Effective immediately, the call center, ePassporte's sales and marketing team and risk management staff will no longer be available. A small group will remain to organize wallet requests and help disburse funds.

Sincerely,

So......has anyone gotten any money out?

I tried both of my cards and one says "insufficient funds" and the other says "Please contact the financial institution for more information"

Pretty much what I expected.

I must be in that "Small percentage" who needs to supply "additional information" before I can get my money out.

me too - I tried 320.00 and it said insufficient funds so I said to myself they ripped my account a bit so I tryed 300.00 and when I heard it counting out my andrew jacksons (my favorite friends) me money - I had a big smile on me face hehe|jester|

I was 1 on the few on this board that had to get there account verified and I never got nothing back about since to gave them the info, so I was a little unsure I would be able

so all and all I am happy I had 361.00 in it, so tomarro I will try again for the rest, thanks to the bank that saved our money from chris going out the back door with it LOL

I do feel sorry for the guy who took his life, and all the heart ache over not having there money last month, it fucked up me a bit

I only have a little over $100 there. Epassporte put in my wallet - I didn't. If they had allowed my last payment to go the virtual Visa, I'd have my money. Now I have no way of getting it because there is no current way to transfer it over. Fucking peasants.

A class action lawsuit is doubtlessly in the future.

I realized I had no idea what my virutal visa number was, as I used to just log in to epassporte to use it. Fortunately, I had the info stored with my electric company, as I've used it to pay electric bills, and just made a payment on the bill for almost the full amount (in case there was a fee) and it went through fine. |thumb So I'm happy.

dam bullshit about getting your cash

Dr Bizzaro
2010-10-13, 05:21 AM
Before all this bullshit started I was only able to get $300/day out of the smaller account. So yesterday I thought perhaps that account still that that cut off point, so I went back and tried it and sure enough I was able to get $300 out. So even though they said it was capped at $320, I was unable to get it, but the $300 I was.

I'm going to try to call today about the other account.

Anyone else have to call there to get money out of an account with over $2,000? What's the process?

phone call, copy of a few documents (all of which epassporte already had). DL, Bank Statement header, Visa Card Bill that was used to initially fund the account.

And you get to pull it out $300/day, $3 service charge a day - at least at the local bank I was using, $300 was the max. My accountant is going to have a field day when he sees cash deposits. :)

Just called and was surprised to see that someone answered on the 2nd ring. No hold, no waiting...
The call took exactly 2 minutes and 29 seconds.
She emailed me the documentation request and made sure I got it before she hung up.
I’m not happy about having to re-send all the same documentation I had to when I 1st signed up to ePassporte, but what can ya do.

Now I just gotta wait 5-10 days to see if they are going to open the account or request more documentation….

thats why they need doc's, because epass don't provide to St. K. doc's which they have

In the request it said that the info that I send them had to "match the information on account that they have on file" for me.

If it didn't I would have to resubmit or submit more stuff that they request.

I guess I don't understand why one account didn't need anything more and the other needed me to send utility bills, my ID, where the money came from, what it was for, etc....

Account Holder funds will be repaid by wire transfer and a US$50 wire transfer fee will be charged.

If you do not have a bank account to which ePassporte can send a wire transfer, please send an email to walletrequest@epassporte.com. Please put "NO BANK ACCOUNT" and your username in the subject line. This will enable us to communicate with you as quickly as possible to identify an alternate method to return your funds.
Does anyone know what the options and costs are if you don't want your money via wire? I don't want to pay $50 of the $100 I have left in there to get it. Swindlers.

When I try to do the $320, I get the insufficient funds message. Which is not true.
Oh well, it’ll be a couple of extra trips and dollars to get it all out.
