Hey everybody – some of you guys might be wondering where I’ve been the last couple of weeks. The sad truth is that I’ve been in jail from August 11 – September 4th for a picture / story on one of my websites that offended the sensibilities of the redneck “powers that be” in this stupid redneck town that has me on probation. Seeing as this shit is still in court, I’m going to have to cut you short on the details. As soon as I can speak about this shit, I will be glad to share the whole story with everyone – because it is really fucked up as hell. Someday, I’ll be able to laugh about it.

Here is the articles they were pissed about:
http://www.dickd.com/editorials_jay/good_ole_boys_1.htm
http://www.dickd.com/editorials_jay/bootcamp_1.htm

For anyone that I do business with – I’m just posting this so you will know that I’m back and where I’ve been. If you submit sites, I have 600 site in my queue – I will be woking hard the next few days to get caught up on reviews. If you have traffic trades or link trades that you have questions about, just shoot me an email at jayq2@comcast.net and we’ll get everything straight. I will be working my ass off the next few days until I can get things caught up.

Sorry to hear about it, glad you're back home & good luck with the court hearing, let's hope the judge isn't from around there!

Thanks for the support - I thought we lived in America and had a first amendment and all that good stuff, but I guess that fucked up county does not think it applies to them.

I thought this was interresting.

SOPERTON — A cousin of Treutlen County’s convicted sheriff has been appointed to run the sheriff’s department.
Jeff Hooks, who has been a full-time deputy for 18 years, became interim sheriff Tuesday. He’s the third cousin of Wayne Hooks, who was found guilty Friday of using excessive force at a jail after arresting two men.
Probate Judge Grace Proctor appointed Jeff Hooks despite his relationship to Wayne Hooks.
‘‘I picked Jeff Hooks on the merits that he has been a deputy all these years,’’ she said. ‘‘He knew everything that was going on in that department, and I figured everyone could work together.’’
Jeff Hooks will run the department until a special election can be held.
‘‘I’m not Wayne Hooks and I’m not trying to fill Wayne Hooks’ shoes,’’ said Jeff Hooks. ‘‘We are here as a team to try to hold this sheriff’s department together.’’

Damn dude, that's major league fucked up. Sounds like ole sheriff Hooks needs the 44 caliber solution.
If you need anything, ammo, alibis, someone to hold the flashlight while you plant the explosives, just yell.

Yeah man, I was in jail when that fucker went down. Don't you think it's kind of odd that they want to be hauling my ass in at the same time that trial is going on?

That county is corrupt as can be!

Putting someone in jail for drugs makes no more sense then putting someone in jail for over eating.

Might as well throw someone in jail for owning some beer, wait they already tried that.

I don't smoke cigarettes or drink, but I do smoke pot, I guess I'm a criminal then since I don't use a government recommended intoxicant. |potleaf|

What a fucking load of bullshit.

But be thankful, in some counties they have given 25 years for as little as 5 hits, i forget what they consider it (some variaton of manslaughter).

You don't know me, Jay, but I've always enjoyed your stories and humor. I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Ya gotta wonder why they still call this country the "land of the free." It seems like our civil liberties and 1st amendment rights are eroding away at an alarming rate.

How bad does it have to get before the nation finally wakes up and shouts: ENOUGH!

it's really a 'different world' .. we lived in Atlanta for 3 yrs and the 1st year my husband was still stationed in Jax..we used to meet up and down the highways either in Savannah or Tifton (off I-75) and i cannot tell you how many times we were pulled over by police, state troopers etc..several times our car was searched and once we were both 'detained' for 5 hours in Statesboro.. only because i shot my mouth off to the officer who pulled me over.. i bright daylight that my "tag" lights were out and he couldn't see from a distance my plate clearly.. so i said.. maybe a trip to Lenscrafters is in your future..

all because i'm beige and my husband is brown.. uh HELLO..

but then again this is the state that still proudly wears the "confederate" flag on it's New flag, considers being "southern" a "heritage".. and still refuse to admit they "lost" 128 yrs ago.. uh DUH...

Jay, you are very very strong for being able to withstand that and carry on. nothing is scarier than being alone...the part of your story about how the inmates blamed you for the fire is just sooo fucking typical. But glad some at least had a conscience.

I doubt there is one person who is perfect.. and i don't think i could have handled that situation with the same patience that you did..to be able to draw on your inner strenght...

As far as what got you there in the 1st place.. we all find various forms of recreation.. and to one it could be drowning their sorrows/fears etc in a bottle or stuffing their face full .. or extending their credit to look like the national debt of some 3rd world nations. We are very backwards when it comes to the concept of "personal freedom"..

KUDOS that you are able to put it behind you and get back to work...

My jaw is on the floor..... That is the paraniod reason I would never carry anything with me when I travel.

This sounds like the making of a great Monday night movie of the week. If you can make that happen, you may clean up in royalties.
Don't forget to cut me in on the action for suggesting it.

Best of luck to you brother.

ah, jeez. I was kind of hoping that when I saw Jay had posted to this thread again, it would be to tell the truth about what really happened. Since he won't, I guess I will.

the true story is that Jay did time for for his drug offenses, then he put up a couple webpages hoping for sympathy (I guess).

Then, he was put on probation and had a scheduled court date that he did not show up for, and he got 30 more days for a probation violation.

I guess he thinks he would be looked upon as some sort of 21st century, Bill of Rights hero if he attributed his incarceration to a webpage that the courts probably never even saw (I did a Google search for the sherriff's name, and his site never came up) rather than the fact that he is a flake.

actually, he is very lucky he was in GA when he did this, a probation violation in CA would have cost him at least a year

So, what Jay is really telling us is that he is unreliable, and will make excuses, pinning the blame on others when he fails to follow through on obligations.

I am sure he is very reliable when it comes to traffic trades though.

Why did I come out of lurking to make this my first post? Well, I read his tale of woe on other boards (like I am sure everyone has) and when I called him on some inconsistencies some of those choosing to believe him jumped on me like I was the bad guy. Even Jay implied that I had the same attitude as the judge, when the honorable thing to do would be admit I was right.

He deserves no sympathy for being an idiot.

this seems to be a common theme in your responses to anyone that calls you on your bullshit. You really think it would help your problem?

How old are you? 18? I would think 14, except I know you have a drivers license.

Why don't you just admit you fucked up, and give up this bullshit 1st Amendment violation? How about giving us the search phrase that would bring up your webpage on the SE that the judge/sherriff would have used to find your webpage?

You admitted on PIB that your last jail time was for a probabtion violation and you implied that it was because you did not show up for a scheduled court date.

Put me to sleep? at least my kids were raised to accept responsibility for their actions. I don't think there was enough chlorine in the gene pool when you were conceived.

What's wrong with a little self promotion? :)

URB - that guy has like a zillion posts on every board, which leads me to ask: When does he get any work done?

BADDOG - Go make a webpage or something and leave me alone. OK, I get it - I'm irresponible, a loser, etc...anyone who actually know me, know that is not true. Get a life man.

I emailed the reporter that just wrote a story about the sheriff in your story. I gave him links to the stories you posted here. This was his reply:

Hello,
I'm a reporter with the Macon Telegraph in Georgia and just read your posting on your experiences in Treutlen County. Quite interesting. I don't know if you've heard, but the sheriff has been convicted and lost his job. I would like to talk to you because I plan on writing a story on how inmates at the Treutlen Boot Camp are often sent off to prison for seemingly trivial rule violations. Even though you didnt' get sent off, it seems like you came really close.

If you don't want to give your name, I could just call you Cool Hand
Luke.

Office - 478-275-1116 - 478-256-9567

SINCE HE MISTOOK ME FOR THE PERSON INVOLVED, I JUST EMAILED HIM:

That wasn't me. It was a guy I met on a message board. And he DID get sent away. For 6 months.

There were two pages to that story. The "jail" experience was on the second page.

Here are the links:

look, I know life is tough for an 18 year old these days, but maybe your experience will teach you something, like hide the drugs somewhere other than your front pocket, don't get out of the car until requested to by the cop (it makes them VERY nervous when you do it on your own), and when you have a court date scheduled, show up.

And we are not impressed by the fact that you went to jail for a probation violation. Trying to make us think it was all over a webpage is even less impressive.

As far as what I do besides post on boards, I am the CEO for one of the fastest growing AVS's around, and I am the Director of Sales for LateNiteMedia, and take pictures of webmaster events for Fubarwebmasters. I am opening a new business within a couple of weeks, I am going to be hosting a weekly online radio show, and I own a mainstream business installing phone systems and computer networks.

In my free time I post on boards, and do some paralegal work for my close friends. So don't worry about me, I keep quite busy.
