So what possessed them to spend $1,000,000.00 on a domain name?

It is an instantly recognizable name,
Tied to products that people want to buy in complete privacy
Customers will value PriveCo’s policies and services
Competitor websites lack professionalism and tact
PriveCo has strong experience in this field

Idiots if you ask me. You can brand ANY domain name. It is worth something but no where near a mil.

Crazy... I remember almost 10 years ago when pussy.com went for 1 million.

I wonder what it would go for today?

I think it might be worth it, although vibrator.com would be better.
You are buying the traffic and the number one spot for vibrators.
It's also a long term investment. 10+ years of traffic for 1 million?

when people search for vibrators, I don't think they use the plural.
look at the alexa of vibrator.com vs vibrators.com

Also, how are you going to differentiate yourself from vibrator.com or www.sextoys.com or any other site out there.

the price he paid is NILL compared to the amount of $$$ he site can bring in alone just from google traffic. ONLY because of its name. If they are smart and monetize it correctly

I actually looked into this a bit further after this discussion. The guy that bought it was already running it for years. He knows exactly what it is worth.

$1M for a site selling sex toys is a good investment... sextoys.com has a really great looking site too, also valuable.

Type ins, SEO combined should earn them good revenue.

Remember that branding costs money. If you spend $100k branding an unknown domain anyway, why not get a good domain and save your money.

Type ins arent what they used to be and have been steadily declining for the past 5 years.

Fuck 100K on branding and domains.

Buy quality traffic from the search engines.

It is obvious! That was to my mind Rotshild who said YOU CAN ALWAYS BUY A THING CHEEPER THEN YOU PAIED FOR IT.

It anyway depands on their future steps to undertake - it may be worth spending every dollar depanding on their marketing and advertising policy!

A domain is only as good as the content on it. Sure it is a good name, but that alone is worth nothing if its a shit website with poor marketing. domains don't broker they way they used to, the boom is over, has been for a long time as I'm sure most of you know already. Just stating to emphasize my statement because I ran out of things to say...

It was sold to the guy that had been running it. didn't go anywhere.

I've put a lot of my domains up in the Moniker auctions recently.
