Can I just ask, what are the methods of billing, like dialers in the days of pre-DSL? Is there anything that makes it possible to bill someone on access, without resorting to credit card/premium rate phone/SMS?
I think there are only checks left in your list.
Not 100% right :)
For Europe, there is Direct Debit, where you withdraw the money directly from the users bank account.
That's the way, 73% of Germans (just one example) pay their bills and pay for online services. Mainstream as well as adult.
I think, now you got them all :)
Have a good one!

Like Ines said. Direct Debit is very popular method here too, and in rest of EU also.
But it may depends about country how banks accept adult sites in their billing systems.
Personally, I chose SMS billing for my companys Finnish adult sites. It's the way to go with Fin traffic because people here are cellphone crazy..

Interesting, didn't know that Fins are so crazy with their cells :)
Countries like Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, Spain and some more are THE Direct Debit countries.
As example, in Germany we have no checks anymore. If you want to pay your rent, phonebill, electricity and everything else, you need to have a bank account for wires. Also for collecting money, even wellfare, and so on, you need a bank account. And everybody is used to pay their bills via Direct Debit (somehow comparable with autobilling, except that companies withdraw the money directly from your account).
Thanks Wolfie, for your input!

Are there any safe guards? I mean a hacker could in theory obtain your account information and clean your account out and move onto the next victim.
