View Full Version : Trying freesites on a free host

Hi,
I have done some testing with TGP on a free host. I have about 15-20 klicks a day on the banner I'm affiliating. I don't know how much I need to get my first $. But it would be very interesting to know.

I'm using a free host and I like it. I don't have to worry about paying $ or getting messages about problem with your credit card. Of course I have to work harder on adding links but it works.

Thinking of creating my own link list with rules that I only accept galleries from free hosts :)

About freesite wich I don't know much about more than that I need a enter page, index page and 2 galleries, how much traffic would I gain changing to a free site from a TGP?

I'm thinking of using content from nastydollars to fill upp 2 galleries and I'm also thinking of using the same approach as in TGP that i have multiple pages with 3 buttons each.

I have som problem thinking how to structure this when I advertise links in various sites. I would need multiple enter pages. Simplest would be to put buttons there but I don't know if webmaster like that.
If they want to have their button on the main page then I need multiple enterpages and multiple indexpages linking to each other.

You see I have problem thinking and I would appreciate your help on this. :)

Ouch...yea, reading that kinda gave me a brainache too |dizzy|

Here's a simple piece of advice to get you started Nightsurf. Go to some of the link sites you're thinking of submitting to and surf the listings. Get a feel for how free sites are laid out and read the rules at the link sites. That simple exercise may help you to compose your questions a bit more clearly so we can help :)

One word of caution here, never ever copy someone else's work. I mean no offense by this statement, but given history...it's necessary to say this to someone new to the business.

One thing I can tell you for sure...free hosting will not fly with link sites. It's been far too abused and I seriously doubt you'll find any link sites willing to list free hosted sites.

Sorry for spreading brainaches :)
I will try your advice.

Still I would like to get the feeling of clicks converting to $?
How well are you doing on TGP's?

I'm about to have 100 clicks total on 8thStreetLatinas.
Is it |thumb or |yawn| to se any $$$ soon?

I have found this structure that answer my qestion:

The site structure is numbered:
www.latinafiles .com/Ice-LaFox/025/
www.latinafiles .com/Ice-LaFox/027/
This is how I'm going to set all the buttons.

So what will be most likely to be listed. A TGP or a free site?
I read that free sites are converting much better. True or False?

Also you mention about that I should never ever copy someone else's work. I'm using free content from nastydollars to promote their business so I guess I'm Ok to use their galleries?

How much clicks would I expect until I get a signup ($)?

That would depend where you are getting traffic from and what they are looking for. I see a lot of webmasters posting about ratios in excess of 1:1,000 which I personally find unacceptable.

Lets say I want to submit my TGP and my free site to 100 sites. The sites where found via google with keywords like:
"submit site" "hairy amateurs"

All I know is that they are mixed and some of them would accept either TGP, free site, both or none.

Given these options what would you do?

Maybe it's better to test this and see what happends.
Maybe free sites would be listed more easy than TGP.

You submit galleries to TGPs and freesites to Linklists. Only a few lists I know (like tommys-bookmarks.com) will accept both galleries and freesites. So it's not ok to submit your galleries to most Linklists and it's not ok to submit freesites to TGPs.

A TGP is a site that lists galleries (a single page with pics or movies).
A Link List is a site that lists Freesites (a mini site consisting of index, main and 2 galleries).
A few sites list both, but they are far between.

Thus: A gallery would make a TGP owner happy (provided it's any good) and a freesite would make a LL owner happy (if it's good).

At 15-20 clicks to sponsor you'll have to wait a while for your first sale (quite a while).

Take MrYum's advice and do your resarch and stay away from free hosts.

first of all get some good sponsors. Some sponsors will give you free hosting to promote their sites... you can use this free hosting for galleries and free sites... (most sponsors will also provide free hosted galleries (FHGs)).

You have it backwards. The webmasters didn't give the free hosts a bad name. The free hosts gave the webmasters bad names because they kept adding and deleting things to the webmasters pages.

If you don't want to pay for hosting, sign up for an affiliate program that offers free hosting. Some programs will give you a virtual account (you can even host one of your domains there if you want), others will even give you your own dedicated server. The catch: you can only use a free hosting account provided by sponsor X to promote sponsor X.

If you want a list of sponsors that give free hosting, just say so.

It's very important who you listen to and who's advice you use starting out. This is true at any point but especially true starting out. Getting a bad reputation right out of the box is very difficult to overcome in this business because most of the players know and do business with one another.

Good luck :)

Nightsurfer...the post above was worth repeating. Do yourself a huge favor and take heed to what Surfn is telling you |thumb
A sponsor free host is still a free host...sponsor provided or otherwise. And they are still banned on all major link sites. If you're caught using one (and trust me, you would get caught...there are some very savvy people running link sites), you will indeed get banned. Hosting is freakin cheap these days...there are those of us who remember paying thousands of dollars/month for hosting. These days you can get a virtual account for well under $50/month. This is a business you're making an investment in. If you're serious about this business...make the necessary investments and go for it! If you're not serious enough...and you want everything handed to you free, perhaps you should rethink getting involved. Yes, perhaps a bit brutal...but also completely honest.

As to Bob, given his little spam fest in this thread and the suggestion to use sponsor free hosting for link list submissions, I'd strongly suggest you consider his recommendations with great care.

You finally made a post without an affiliate link and you gave very bad advice indeed. Why would you tell someone to hop from one form of free hosting to another? If you want to make money in this business today - pay for hosting. Don't use sponsor hosting for any page you plan on submitting to a link list. If you want to be taken seriously, you must have a real paid hosting account. Just don't use any hosts that u-Bob spams your way because spammers shouldn't be rewarded.

1. The guy said he was using free hosts.
2. He said that he liked free hosting and the wants to continue to use free hosting.

I just pointed out that if you insist on using free hosting, it is way more reliable to use free hosting provided by a sponsor, than free hosting from a free hosting site/company.

Some sponsors like Ragecash and realitycash (look, no ref link, djeez) will give you a free virtual account, and even a free dedicated server if you bring in enough sales. Ok, some sponsors have their free hosting account on pure COGENT, but it's still way better than a "normal" free host.
Or are you guys saying you can't trust Ragecash, OCCash, Deecash,...?

u-Bob - 1st off, no one asked for recommendation, so all your referral codes were considered |spam| and deleted. That is how this board works.

2nd, I doubt any of the regular posters here on this board will give a big |thumb to any sort of free hosting. Free Hosts are banned from a lot of Link Lists & TGP's & are very much frowned upon by legit webmasters that have been paying for their own hosting for years.

Free Hosts, in theory, are ok, but they were ruined by bad webmasters years ago & thus, a lot of us hate them & do not recommend them to anyone.

Why give all freehosts a bad reputation? doesn't some of them (free hosts) understand that changing content isn't good for their business, unless you mean changing banner type also, but if so why is that bad?

What if we added a whitelist on good freehosts that you and the freehostowners agree on supporting. Wouldn't this solve the problem?

Some free hosts are better than others, but they all have the same issue to one degree or another. Hosting your content is not their primary source of income. Therefore you and your content are not their top priority.

Reliable paid hosting is inexpensive enough these days that there's no need for link list and TGP owners to spend the extra time "approving" specific free hosts.

Free hosts have been discussed MANY times on this forum and others. You're not going to make headway in changing the minds of those that have experienced the problems of free hosts for years.

Oh, and YES...those of us that make a living doing this absolutely take it seriously. The fact that you seem to think otherwise definitely gives clues as to your thoughts about the business. So, don't be too surprised if those you attempt to do business with in the future don't take you seriously.

Another quick word of free advice since you seem to want everything for free...reputation counts for a lot in this business. And once a person soils their reputation, it's difficult if not impossible to repair the damage.

Just to let you know I have done lot's of reading about Internet Marketing and tried out Adwords just to experience that Google rip my money off in notime. I think that there are many lurkers out there just waiting to take your money away. For example I think that Google Cash probably was written by Google themself. I think freehostowners are in pain especially those who target the adult business, not being able to spread their hosting service.First, let me say that I got a small smile from seeing 'free host owners' used as a compound word. Took me a moment to figure out what it was. ;)

There are a couple of good uses of free hosting for the advanced webmaster, but never for hosting pages you wish to submit to link lists/TGPs or for pages you hope to do link trades with.

Along my path to being one of the least successful adult webmasters, I have done many things the wrong way. (I'm probably fucking up something at this very moment.) But even I have not used a free host for important pages. Hosting is so cheap today, it's unreasonable to argue over free hosting. Accept this truth and you'll get much further, faster.
