BV, whats that mean exactly?
BV, whats that mean exactly?
It's when IE reuses an open window when launching a shortcut. So in this case I suspect that these viewers had those pages already open in another browser window when clicking on a link to your site from another page, email, icq, message board, etc etc...

I've seen shit like that before. I was once told it could also be someone trying to hack into your domain scripts and using proxy (or whatever) so those fake urls show up.

We keep getting incoming traffic from the Atomic Energy Commission on a regular basis. From what I can tell, I think it's due to some "Atom Age (http://atomage.netfirms.com/)" fetish references. Really was strange when we first started seeing them in the referrers.
Exactly, my guess is that a search engine query returns results for the Atomic Energy Commission as well as your site. Surfer opens the Energy site then opens your site. IE recycled the open window, thus showing the energy site as the referrer.

I had those also.....I now only check the first 100 referers as my main domains have 1000s of referers and takes to long to load them all..
Atomic Energy Commission is also in my awstats.

Actually, the atomic energy one is the referer given by a specific "anonymous surfing" program. There may be an open proxy there, but the basic idea is that people can hide where they came from. I have considered re-routing these people directly to sponsors or something, as they obviously have something to hide.
