mircophone to USB

Anyone know if there's such thing as a microphone jack to USB?

my microphone in on the back of my laptop has failed on my last few shoots, right when I need it most. So I was wondering if I could put it into a convertor and use the USB port, but as you could imagine searching through sites they all just bring up what each computer has.

Cleo thanks so much that looks absolutely perfect for what I need. now I just have to find a UK seller but thanks so much, it's much cheaper than the idea of getting my laptop fixed at £100 for a microphone port!

eventually went for the iMic and got it from Amazon.co.uk think it's the first thing I've ever purchased from Amazon.

I buy from Amazon all the time. I got a new cell phone a few months ago. It showed up ready to use.

I've bought stuff for my kitchen , a new vacuum cleaner, CDs, I just bought the 40 gig iPod from them.
